Hi, Nice video. I have a 1958 JD 420s that I inherited. I want to use it on my farm but the Hydraulic pump is blown, leaks through the rear seal into the engine. The drive shaft for the pump appears to be very well worn, in the bad way. Do you have, or know where I might get a replacement Hydraulic pump, or a rebuild kit? Thank you for your time and have a nice day

It reminds me of Hahn’s highboy sprayers that came out around 1960. I think one of their first models was the 312 but they were mostly trikes. You could use drip nozzles on these high rigs with 2-4-d to control grass when the corn got tall. Around 1965 Treflan by Elanco came out and this and Amiben were the pre-emerge duo that really boosted American yields by choking out a variety of weeds. If you spray 2-4-d after the corn is dented you can bring it to harvest faster too. Not sure if this was ever a common practice. Maybe in a short growing season? With marestail and giant ragweed being resistant to round-up, you will eventually have to use a pre-emerge if you don’t have corn in your rotation.

@@derekcollins1972 Yeah. Treflan proved to be safe for humans but was really bad for aquatic life. Working the chemicals in the soil instead of binding them on the surface with crop oil was a much better practice. Unfortunately no one is willing to give up no-till practices.
