I agree. They originally released this six-bar design in 89 and its been popular ever since. Im excited they re-released 35 of them for the anniversary - and managed to get Chrome done
@@1972mdc Its summer here in Phoenix and its still 105* degrees at night so I use the S1 lifer helmet in the hot hot. In the winter, I use an old school looking brown/orange sparkle Biltwell helmet that looks like it came out of 1977 lol. If I had to pick just one, it would be the S1 lifer helmet though. It's light and has lots of padding options to dial the fit.
Thx - I have a giro MTB style half and it’s great for ventilation but not so much style. My retrospec dakota is pretty good ventilation and padding but sits up so I look like a spaceball :)
Where can I get those yellow and red supercross decals you have on the forks? I just purchased some Supercross SLT forks and the white decals don't match the yellow and red ones on my Supercross SX450. I was looking all over for some online then I watched your video and low and behold there they were on Isaac's SX250 29'er 🙂
I think its more about stopping power. When I gave my feedback on the frames, I asked for disc on the 29" because most people will cruise around on it and/or wheelie on it. Disc is more reliable for that size wheel in my opinion.
@BigBikeBMX thanks that makes sense. Smaller wheel diameter less rotational inertia less need for more powerful stopping power. I still like disc brakes though. 😀 I think supercross folks actually put out a video on why they prefer a downsized rotors for their disc brake equipped race bikes. Long story short was too much braking power gives more potential for wheel lock up. In racing thats bad since theres no time to modulate braking therefore you go 'otb'.
@@liblanket yup. Thats a great video. I learned a lot in that one. I think the whole industry will move to disc brakes more and more. Especially in the 26 and 29 sizes. The peace of mind knowing I can feather my brakes, but also lock up if I’m looping is hard to not love.
