Me too - I taped this off of the radio and lost the cassette! Its special appeal was that it took the piss out of MacIlvaney's orotund delivery in the real documentary (Only A Game) as well as the usual footie/90 minute patriot shibboleths. The current annual "Only an Excuse" on TV at Hogmanay is good but the original can't be beat. Especially (for the son of an Arab) the Jovial Jim McLean bit.... Please release on CD!!!!

My father had the tapes and we'd listen to them going to the football each weekend. Still funny to this day and many happy memories. Cheers for putting up.

I bought this from a neglected bottom shelf of a record shop in Hull in about 1989. I had no idea what it was but I still quote lines from it to this day. Pure genius. I lost the tape in a house move so thanks so much for uploading this.

Awesome, I had the cassette and the World Cup one but lost them in a flat clearout that my mum had when I moved out many years ago.

Used to listen to these when I was a kid. My dad had recorded them off the radio. Superb.

First got this for free in the daily record in 2006,it was a fun listen

got it on vhs then transferred it to dvd brilliant was follow up to only a excuse fromradio tony and johnny were great
