The first pastry isn’t a single serve 😂 It’s a family-sized bun. The kind you buy to share with the parents / kids at home, or because you’re having people over for a cuppa, and you want something to share with them. Like buying a cake. Except it’s a bun.
@@Birbbb i can feel you pal I didn't travel out of my state more than once or twice but i really wanna go on a tour .....somewhere that's exciting and away from this everyday stressful life :(
As someone who lives in Australia, I just find it so funny that she went to Coles to review the most generic chocolate chip cookies and hot cross buns you can get. She isn’t wrong that they’re good though 😂
I'm from Melbourne and I'm so glad you tried those cookies but warmed up a bit in the microwave will change everythingggg. Love watching your videos by the way ☺️
"the cheese was so cheesy...and the sugar was so sugary ...and the chocolate cookie was so chocolatey"...yeah man thats some in depth food reviewing huh😂😂
@@hugh-jasole glad I’m not the only person who finds her descriptions fucking super cringe worthy I feel embarrassed for her her vocabulary is contradictory and embarrassing. Oh my God it was like so light and so moist, but also dense and dry, and also my god so creamy and sugary and sweet, and so salty and savory x 1 million that’s literally all she fucking says on repeat over and over and over in this overly enthusiastic fucking disingenuous voice LMAO it’s laughable honestly
Haha the first pastry is actually a pull-apart pastry meant to share during something like afternoon tea! That's why it's so big 😂 glad you enjoyed everything though ❤️ Coles chocolate chip cookies are elite! The triple choc ones are even better in my opinion 🇦🇺
She said that she shares most of her stuff anyways because she can't actually eat all of the food she buys. She goes out with others and shares with them.
Oh yeah, the chocolate hot Cross buns in the air fryer with butter on it cut in half and then butter on at the end is one of the best things that you ever have for breakfast in Australian but also The get it at Bakers Delight. It’s got like custard in it or maybe sultana icingand butter😂❤
Bit of advice for you as someone from the UK. Next time you eat a hot Cross bun, slice it in half, toast it for a couple of minutes, then put some salted butter on. It melts into the bun, it's beyond delicious. This is how we would traditionally eat a hot cross bun. I've not seen the chocolate ones yet, I'm going to have to go and find some!! Love your videos. ❤
The chocolate one have become more common here in South Africa but my dad found a new kind at Woolworths they are the only place that sells them they are the spiced hot cross buns the dough has cinnamon, nutmeg and other aromatics and there are candied orange peel chunks mixed in instead of raisin they taste amazing however you are 100% correct you have to toast your buns and butter with real salted butter
@@caradanellemcclintock8178 that sounds like a very traditional recipe. Before the chocolate versions etc the original buns had those spices and candied peel, as well as raisins
@@caradanellemcclintock8178 aren't 'plain' hot cross buns spiced? The only thing that sounds different to me is the candied orange peel. Sounds tasty ^^
Vegemite scrolls are one of my favourite things from Coles. Bakers Delight is where Karissa got hers from. Try the Ham and Cheese Danish from Bakers Delight next time!
TIP: if you ever try them again, I would recommend you cut the hot cross buns in half and TOAST them and then spread some butter over them and eat them while they're still warm, thats the BEST way to have them! I honestly wouldn't even eat it they way you did lmao but I LOVE them toasted
@@mallarieluvsgirlsit’s a reference to a really famous song called “Down Under” by Men At Work. The internet is a place full of niche references, so your confusion is understandable.
I’ve always wondered the same thing! Even though she doesn’t eat it all…..she’s still eating some bites of all the different types. You think it would eventually catch up to her lol. Lucky girl!!! 😝
Karissa is one of my favorites foodvlogger out there, she is never rating a food so badly for me it's like appreciation to the food and who made it, i love it really love it
I was weirded out to learn from my family who moved to America many years ago that you don't get savoury pies there like what the heck In South Africa meat pies sausage rolls and samosas are a staple of any decent bakery section sweet pies are usually tucked in with other pastries if they even have them
@@caradanellemcclintock8178 Even Asian bakeries have savoury pastries like egg tarts, bao (pork/beef/chicken) buns, and even "pigs in a blanket" which are hotdogs/sausages wrapped in dough and baked. I think American bakeries tend to focus more on sweet confecfioneries like frosted cupcakes and sweet cookies. Maybe France also only does sweet pastries too.
@@_Just_Another_Guy Yep, I can shamefully say as both an Asian and an American that I've never had a meat pie before. All the descriptions sound wonderful, though! I imagine juicy pulled pork, baked with chunks of beef, some juicy fruit chunks thrown in, with a buttery and flaky crust making a crunchy, savory, fruity meal!
@@neiacormae9550 Iv never had a pulled pork one but that sounds amazing in South Africa the common flavours are; Shepard's Pie that's got potatoes mince and peas, steak and kidney chunks of beef and kidney in gravy(not my favourite), steak and onion chunks of beef and fried onions in gravy(this one is the bomb), chicken and mayo, chicken and mushroom, spare rib and sausage rolls. More are more I'm seeing cheese flavours now though there's cheese burger that's got a patty and cheese in it and sometimes there's cheese and onions they are both great when you can find them
The first pastry is called a pull a part it is supposed to be shared between others or eaten over time, most commonly used for gathering or a snack I’m from Australia
where is the vanilla slice or frog cakes - or apple turnovers or even butterfly cakes - none of those are from an authentic Aussie bakery - not to mention the pies or sausage rolls or Cornish pasties - Carmel slice - what about double cut rolls or giant twin ice cream - fritz with sauce sandwiches….❤ fairy cakes - Anzac biscuits…etc etc
It would mean the world to me if you tried milo. It’s a chocolate drink powder, you can find it in Woolies or coles. You mix a couple tablespoons with milk and we usually like to leave a little layer of the powder still sitting on top of the milk, so it’s in every sip. Milo is the best Aussie (and I believe in South Asia!)
They changed the recipe of Milo in South Africa a few years back it's now mostly malt barely a chocolate flavour you have to add so much to milk to get the chocolate hit you want we do however sprinkle the dry granules on Ouma pancakes (basically crepes) then you roll it up into a tube and eat it it's crunchy and delicious you can get that combo and pancake stands everywhere now
Karissa you HAVE to try all the different Easter chocolate Australia has to offer!! You can get it from Coles or Woolworths primarily, but you can find most kinds in places like Kmart and BigW too.
I always think that! Maybe she trains hard in the gym, or doesn't eat the full portion every time. She works as a singer on a cruise ship, from experience as a singer, I can say you definitely burn a lot of calories if you're dancing as well. Maybe she's genetically lucky 😂 all I know is, I wish I could eat all those delicious foods 😋
@Casie Coover it's not weird at all, it's called healthy curiosity (well it is on my side anyway) as someone who has dealt with eating disorders all my adult life, I'm genuinely interested and happy when someone can eat like this.
As an Aussie, it’s really fun to watch people form other country’s come and try the stuff we have here! Not only this but the way they pronounce it is interesting too :)
As an Aussie I legit find it hilarious of how she’s reacting to your good old coles and bakers delight stuff. We legit have them right in front of our house and I love the Vegemite scrolls they make, you can never go wrong with normal bakers delight goods.
