"you will find the same pastries for 50 cents- 1 euro" you will in the Uk too. Any capital/major city with a lot of toursim will have high prices across the board. A lot of high end independent bakeries in Paris are in the 2-4 Euro range for a pastry.

But imagine you are in France or Italy or Germany or anywhere else and you go to a bakery, you would get such insane assortment of their baked goodies. The brits were busy looting all the sugar and spices from india and did absolutely nothing with it.

all seem so tasty, but unfortunately, the doughs in UK aren't tasty at all! I think it's about the water!! I was living in London and i had never enjoyed the bread, ( i am a breadeater, i eat bread with pasta)!! But you seem to enjoy your food and that is all that matters!!!! My love from Greece 🙏🕊️💓🌷🤗
