eating some schwartz right now, i buy there product that is sold frozen in individual sealed packages that you boil (souvide) ,comes 6 in a pack but a bit pricey from costco
I have been eating "Montreal Smoked Meat all of my life from almost every great place here and they're all great. it seems to me to come down to price as I am retired and not in Marky's Class of income. sadly I must compromise on having a brisket marinade for 14 days and smoked for 8 hours and perfectly steamed for cost. saving $3 allows me to enjoy a great sandwich but still pay my Bills!!
Does anyone remember the name of the Smoked meat restaurant located next to the Montreal Forum in the 1970's. Best Smoked meat ever. Piled high with a pickle and portraits of Habs stars lined the wall. It closed when the Canadiens moved to the Bell Center.
no matter where else this Meat is produced in Canada, I don't believe it can come close to this incredible result from here. we are so lucky to have this in our City. just one more thing, please have a better quality of video for anything pertaining to food for detail??
Mr. Silva is right on the money for having this in sandwich form at his place. I think Mr. Schwartz would have turned in his grave to see this on Spaghetti !!
Schwartz's is super good and I would recommend it to everyone but, and this will be blasphemous to Montreal foodies, if the line is too long just go across the street to Le Main. It's just as good. Schwartz's pickles are a little better but aside from that, it's the same.
That's what I did 3 years ago and it didn't disappoint. One day I will try Schwartz's but Main was excellent, and this is coming from a New Yorker who grew up eating pastrami so I would know!
HELP,does anyone remember in montreal the name of the smoked meat that was in a vacuum sealed plastic bag that you just throw it in boiling water with the bag ?i used to eat it in the 60's when living in montreal as a kid,but i can't fkn remember the name.
Yes I agree about the good quality of Pete's But for me Schwartz's are the best AND Pete his second (close) sorry for my english. I've try many place Jary, Main, Joe smoked meat
TonkaTruck90 depends on your taste buddy, some love schwartz, some petes, and other would be a toss up between dunks and reuben's! they are all amazing, not one better than the other, depends on the persons taste
Schwartz is overrated. It’s not the best in Montreal. It’s dry meat. I’ve been 3 times and i order it medium fat and it’s dry. There is other smoke meat places that are way better.
