This is the kind of thing that happens when you're bored on your second playthrough and you start building strategies around the plants crazy dave choses for you
@@seraphimeblan Russian version of my reply: я точно знаю! это так бесит, и я не совсем ветеран в борьбе растений против зомби, поэтому я не понимаю, почему они это делают, я чувствую тебя! брат. English version of my reply: I know for sure! this is so infuriating and i'm not exactly a plant vs zombie veteran so i don't understand why they do this! i feel you bro.
I like to imagine that the zombies can actually choose which lane they go in when they eat a garlic. So, essentially, when a zombie goes in the middle lane they're saying they'd rather die than eat another garlic.
But how would they think for themselves if they don't have brains DUN DUN DUNNNNNN. That's why they want your brains, so that they can stop eating GARLIC. MYSTERY SOLVED
I'm kinda late to the party but I decided to do the math. Assuming no garlics are destroyed while the zombies eat them and garlics have a 50% chance to have zombies either go up or down if both are available, using this setup, if a zombie doesn't ever go into the middle lane but goes back and forth, they will eat the garlic on average 5 times per column. That's 1 garlic being eaten 3 times, the other at 2. The first and fifth rows don't have any probabilties tied to them because the zombie will always go back to the second or fourth rows. Therefore, if a zombie spawns on the 2nd or 4th row, their odds for making it to the end of the field of garlic you have set up is 3.8147 x 10^-6, or 0.0000038147%, and for the zombies on the 1st and 5th rows, its 7.62939 x 10^-6 or 0.00000762939%. Not decent odds, especially since you can place one squash at the end and deny them from doing anything.
Spikeweed is one of the best plants. Cheap and quick to recharge, and provides basically free splash damage. Always a good idea to put it in the first row.
I am still pissed about how they could ruin such a good game. At least they could have released plants vs zombies 2 for PC without that nasty advertisement (on the phone).
It seems like every garlic can be bitten a maximum of 3 times before the zombie has progressed far enough to get to the next garlic. There's 7 garlics in a lane. So that's a total of 21 attemts at bringing a zombie to the middle lane Each bite on row 2 and 4 has a 1/2 chance of failing to bring the zombie to the middle row. (1/2)²¹ is about 1/2'000'000. If there's abiut 120 zombies per wave and 600 in this playthrough, the challenge has an about 1/3000 chance of failing
There's also of course lawnmowers at the back, which kills all zombies present in that row, and if it occurs before starting a wave, it can't let any zombies be in that row.
This strat become even more effective if you use a winter melon at the back instead of a tall-nut because then it slows the zombies and gives them more time to be killed.
Out of all games that youtubers play, I've found that the PvZ youtubers rarely use voice over. I'm not complaining, it fits really well for some reason
I love how some zombies bite the garlic, decide that it's not for them, change row, bite the other garlic, think it's disgusting and then return on the previous row hoping that the garlic tastes better this time
The zombiezs: YO A BUNCH OF GARLICS :O and death... hopely the garlics will taste good **bite** Bruh this tastes like shit, let's try the other one **changes row** **bite** My feet taste better than this ugly stinky white shit, maybe the other one will taste better this time... **Goes back to the other row** **Bite** IT TASTES THE SAME >:( I BET THAT EATING THE TOILET WILL BE MORE ENJOYABLE THAN THIS... THAT'S IT **goes to death row** EVEN DEATH WILL TASTE BETTER!!!!!! **dies**
3:55 wow you got the “rare death” thing Edit:Ok,first of,man this comment is old, second of all,i now realize that this might not be a rare thing,i myself while playing pvz, have encountered this many times,so yeah,i dont think it’s rare
3:48 has anyone notice this guy was lucky enough to get a very rare 0.02% chance death animation for the zombies? Very lucky to get this rare encounter
For those wondering, the probability was calculated as follows. Firstly, I counted the times a zombie can ping pong in one column, which turned out to be 6. Half of these are on the outer edges so they don't count. Assuming an equal probability of going up and down the zombie needs to flip a coin with .5 probability 3 times per column, and there are 7 columns. So the probability of reaching the end is 1/2^(7*3) or about 1 in 2 million.
I use this strat for Endless back in the day. Very effective to all kinds of opponents except the jumpy and the cars, to which I introduce Magnet shroom and Spikeweeds at the start, respectively 🤣
theory: the zombies attack the house because their frisbee landed on the roof edit: my theory comes from the mobile version of pvz. on the roof you can see a frisbee with a picture of a zombie head on it
6:09 It took that cone zombie 15 bites of garlics to get in the middle. Being the one who reached the furthest in the garlic path (winning 7 50/50 to get to the center)
Well, Detara, if there's ever a real-life zombie apocalypse, you can rest easy knowing no matter what, there will be NO zombies on your lawn. Also, nice job on the challenge! I can consider myself thoroughly entertained.
You can really see how the games code forces you to use all the lanes. Watch how the zombies bounce back and forth between the garlic lanes while taking many lane switches before actually going to the lane that is causing damage.
@@thatnike2604 His comment was more so about zombies being able to progress even if all lanes had garlic on them, since every time they shuffle they move one step closer
This was cool, inventive, and surprisingly effective! I’d suggest replacing the third column, third row with another Walnut, to dramatically improve your defenses, especially against those zombies which can high jump.
@@arlynnecumberbatch1056 if i remember correctly, the only zombie that can go through tallnuts are ladders zombies, dolphin rider, vaulters and baloons are dropped down when they hit the N U T
Okay, so I'm watching this on my phone and I caught myself clicking almost every sun that passed the screen and not being able to stop even after I realized that it was a video... GUESS WHO PLAYED TOO MUCH PVZ?? xD
