Hashtag United are a one-of-a-kind football and esports club, based in Essex, England. Formed in 2016 by Spencer Owen as a group of mates playing exhibition games, we now play in the 8th tier of English football, the Isthmian League North. We won our league in our first season in non-league football and were looking good for a second promotion when the 2019/20 season was voided, but after the 2020/21 season went the same way with us top of the Essex Senior League, we were eventually awarded promotion based on PPG over the two part seasons. We merged with AFC Basildon Women in summer 2020 and formed our women's team, Hashtag United FC Women, who play in the 4th tier of women's football, the FA Women's National League Division 1 South East. We also now have 40+ youth teams, reserve and development teams...and not forgetting our esports team who play FIFA at the world's highest level. Props to the manager for cussing out the team at the half. Both goals were because of low effort and in the second half you saw what he was talking about after the team finally turned on, but only after going down 3-0

My main takeaway too - Max is vital to the team. Also, for the second game in a row it's clear that Jermaine is wasted through the middle, the team improves vastly with him on the wing and Okunja in behind

So as someone who lives in Stowmarket and therefore naturally supports the club as my main, but also follows and supports the tags. I must say this was a very strange game to be at and watch. Stowmarket executed their game plan very well but scored some of the simplest goals they would have got all season. Hashtag looked a completely different team than the one I've been watching on these vids the past few months. Something about the early period of play and definitely the early goal had the tags rattled. Nobody seemed to be working with each other and there was all sorts of shouting and criticising amongst the players. Especially PK was rather brutal to someone at one point. if anyone was going to end the run I can be glad that Stowmarket done it. I don't expect it will affect the tags going forward and I fully expect them to wrap the title up and get that deserved promotion. Who knows, maybe Stowmarket can join them and I can see the two teams play each other again next season

To be completely honest, I am still waiting to see anything from Miles, yes he has had a few games where he jumped in with a couple of assists and a few goals (but those were against lower table teams), but other than that I don`t really see why he is being picked ahead of AT(As long as AT doesn`t have injury problems), he should be the one starting. And no, I`m not saying that only on behalf of todays game. Other than that, a loss was going to come at some point so heads up and secure promotion.

The typical odd game from a football club. You guys did awesome by winning 21 in a row, and getting yourselves into the top place in the league. Maintaining the position is tough tho, as you guys now carry a target on your backs. Keep grinding, this isn't a sprint, it's a marathon. Keep the cool, one defeat is just that, 3 points, let's make sure these are the last ones you lose until mathematically you are champions. The weather seemed against us in this match, but we only have ourselves to blame, all 3 of their goals extremelly poor defending from us. Took us till our goal to actually realise what was going on. That half time hair dryer treatment was 100% needed. First half lacked intensity, speed, desire and stood off everyone, absolutely woeful. Even though the pitch is crap, doesn't mean you don't put in effort. Barely saw anyone sprinting and wanting the ball except PK. Second half, Eman comes on, gets tight and wins the ball straight away. Very unusual performance from the tags.

14:15 Although the team played really badly by the looks of it. I had my alarm bells ringing at switching over full backs rather than finding a different option altogether. Full back positions are always vulnerable and personally I’d rather have 1 full back position at 100% (eg the best natural right sided right back playing as right back) rather than playing a right back at left back. I’d rather have my best full back in his natural position otherwise you are weakening BOTH flanks rather than just having the one flank the opposition are going to try to exploit. Also it makes it harder to turn defence into attack down the wing as Hashtag have been really good at this season and has improved with the signing of Reid. It’s a hard choice tbf, but it’s more a mathematical consideration than just football as there’s a few issues at play. It makes sense in my head. I know it’s a complicated way of explaining it. But in a nutshell instead of having 1 weaker spot to cover, they ended up with 2, on both flanks which is inviting trouble. So I’d have wanted my 1st choice right back at right back and Wooldrige at left back. Add to that the issues with the pitch and being unfamiliar with it (compared to the home team who are used to it) it’s just asking for trouble. But Jay has got most things right this season and so have the team. Going to edit this as I’ve noticed it was Reid who was injured. Clearly missing him caused a major imbalance.

Olly Miles is.... well pretty dogwater tbh, you can definitely see a bit of a gap between the starting XI and when injuries arise. Reid a massive miss, Nathan Smith looks like he can't be bothered half the time and thats pretty concerning. Hopefully back to winning ways next week, can't win em all.

Hopefully just a bad day at the office. That does heap a lot of pressure now on the next game as another slip up, and Sudbury can pounce. Hopefully the training this week will be on point, and we can look back on what we did wrong- both Tactical and mentality wise. We have been so good. Can’t go and throw it all away now!!

Did you see the pitch? Laughable! Apparently there had to be a pitch inspection before the game…that’s how bad it was 😂 And before anyone says “it’s the same for both sides” you can’t tell me a team used to playing on good pitches won’t be disadvantaged against a team who play on that joke every other week. That said, credit where it’s due…stowmarket played the conditions, had a game plan and executed. After all said and done…what a run for the tags!

The outplayed outrun out tactic us. Many things went wrong. We didn’t even have a clear shot on goal and relied on scruffy situations. Didnt create enough clear cut chances like usual. What halpen to the ried guy at right back that got motm last match¿ we clearly missed him.
