Having to leave a pile of cards like that and come pack never works haha It was kind of poet that he faced and lost to the statue of himself in the end.
Not taking any lightning despite that being his only engine for damage was catastrophic. Usually he worships ball lightning but turned it down for 13 gold?
@@disgustingg you are probably better at using your cards but worse at choosing them, since choosing them is equally as important (if not more honestly) than playing them properly sometimes. Like there was a doom and gloom offered this run which if taken would've solved the AOE problem, also generated dark orbs which benefit the draw, and give good damage scaling.
@@dekkonot yeah the frozen core pickup actually helped a lot since he never has a good block ratio in his decks. Sneko was a truly unhinged play, though. That pick was basically Ryan going "Ok you know what, this sucks I hate this" and flipping the Monopoly board because the other player with no sets landed on the community chest _between_ his hotel-ed Boardwalk and Park Place. Like, the deck was not terrible, a little more offensive power and it probably could've worked. Hell, even If he'd taken like 3 or 4 of those million claws he passed up then picked the fusion hammer instead of sneko eye he probably would've been fine.
Silent Shivs & Dagger Spray, Ironclad Sword Boomerang & Pummel, Defect Barrage, and lots of cards when weakened actually make it a very strong pick for Act 1 & 2, and possibly later on if you have trouble dealing with weak status in general (or you're running an endurance build i.e. frost orb stacking, discard shields silent, ironclad barricade, etc.) Not for watcher though, she always deals insane damage and takes insane damage.
I like the way NL plays and his pet cards, we all have them, but he keeps just ending his turn with 1 energy left and cards left to play. I'm going crazy.
I'm finally aiming for ascension 20 in my personal play through and I've been using this series as benchmark when I play everyday. I enjoy keeping pace with your progress, love the videos.
I feel like these focus-heavy runs would really benefit from more dark orbs dawg. He keeps asking for AoE and damage, then skips Doom & Gloom like twice something something backseat gaming
I think you used the smoke bomb at exactly the right time since it's a video game and knowing for sure that you wouldn't've been able to win the fight is more satisfactory than using it earlier as the more logical decision that may save you an amount of health later.
I got recommended to watch jorbs from all the NL StS. Going from a run where jorbs takes an hour spreadsheeting on Act 1 to this is giving me whiplash.
Often I find that when you have really high focus and a full suite of frost orbs it's better to actually avoid playing any lightning if you have other damage sources in your deck, because it can very well mean you literally can't get hurt. It's a slow play, for sure, but at higher ascension levels it's absolutely worth it for enemies that don't scale. Also if you have a lot of focus and Frozen Core you need to pick up some extra orb slots. Like two or three capacitors and a consume is incredibly broken with frozen core.
