"it's a porn platform banning porn" exactly what onlyfans doesn't wanna hear lmao, they were hoping it wasn't too late to change their reputation, but they just killed it instead
If they straight up actually tell people what the website actually for from the start and has enforce a policy for I'm sure this could happen . It seems that they doesn't even understand what their target audience is
@@timdecoursey287 they did want it to be for original creators but they went in too deep with the of nsfw creators. They’ve been slowly trying to get others on the platform that ain’t nsfw for years to change its reputation but it’s too late tbh
Onlyfans held a gun to their head, safety off, screamed that they were going to do it until the police, their family, and their friends all showed up to beg them not to go through with it. They looked them all dead in the eyes, said their goodbyes and then pulled the trigger... And out of the barrel popped a little flag with some confetti. The flag says "jk lmao"
REEEALLY overestimated the attractiveness of their PG content. Like people just can't wait to pay money for what you can basically get for free on RU-vid.
Fr I don’t get it 😂 like we all know the reason that 99% of guys are buying that shit, why alienate a large amount of content and then get surprised when it doesn’t work out how you want 🤦♂️
they tried to push their article/content thing where they were "showing off" popular creators on the platform and they interview this girl who claimed to be like an Artist or something and they were talking about her "real work" she does, but her actual OF profile was literally all nudes.
It wasnt that they wanted them gonna this was a scheme to distract from the BBC story about their trafficking and child abuse problems atleast I think that It's not a fact But I think the timing was just too perfect I think they'll implement Mastercard face scanning technology if they wanna keep the VCs or they'll bump up their take
The United State’s ultimate decision to release the atomic bombs on Japan was definitely justified as they were thinking of the better result. In other words, what result had the least damage and least cost. A conventional war against Japan that would result in millions of casualties is surely more dreadful than the nuclear bomb that had much less casualties. Truman’s original choice to drop the atomic bomb was justified, however dropping the second one was not right. Before Little Boy, the US gave a warning to Japan that an attack was eminent and it warned the Japanese government to surrender. But in the Fat Man bombing, it was dropped just a few days later. Japan had no time to react to the drop to see if they should accept defeat or not. The US should have given more time for Japan to find out if they are going to surrender or not. If they had given more time, the result would have perhaps been much less devastating.

They have to be aware that 99% of their revenue comes from adult content. Did they really think they could just stop? The smart thing to do was just open up another website for other things
A lot of companies want a nice, clean family image and don't want to support companies that permit or promote sexually explicit content. Platforms supporting it have been trying to move away from it to draw in more investors and sponsors.
@@cachedgaming MasterCard already denied their involvement. Also, explain the other platforms that deal in adult content and pay for things with credit cards, including all the competitors that OnlyFans suddenly has to deal with.
I don't understand the fuss about all this. Aren't most of the top earners on OnlyFans giving out mostly lewds (not nude pics) anyway? So not even nude pictures which will still be allowed on OnlyFans. Plus this is a great monopoly buster as there are plenty of competitors outside of Onlyfans that do allow explicit content to be sold and I'm not comfortable with one company being the monopoly in controlling the terms and conditions of making money off of sexual content.
I didn't even know that onlyfans was specifically FOR porn, I thought it was just as its name states. I thought that fans get to learn deeper information about the person they fan over but I didn't think it'd get to that extent! o.o
They probably had some sort of strategy meeting to expand on their business with all the money they (probably) have. The natural idea is to get investors to expand money. They can get more investors like from banks with a more 'family friendly' image. So, naturally, just ban the porn. Problem solved. Kappa
This happens when the top only looks at the numbers for a long time, and totally disconnects from the products and services they provide. In a traditional factory, unions and strikes might bring management back to Earth. Over the Internet, people will just move on to your competitors in the blink of an eye
@@thenasadude6878 thing is... they will just keep moving because porn isn't mainstream. These companies can't grow with nudity ... yeah it can make $$ off it but expanding it ...

"People thought they were just going to ban illegal porn." People are stupid. Illegal porn is banned on all above-board websites accessible in the US, that's what illegal means.
It's a mis-interpretation of the issue. Any site which allows user uploaded content, is going to have issues with illegal content. That was the issue and that's why the payment providers were threatening to drop then. Since age and identity verification is difficult, OF decided to go the easy route themselves and try to drop all porn to solve the problem. RU-vid and Copyright infringement is basically the same story. Except RU-vid didn't ban posting of videos in order to stop copyright issues.
Still, they said they “suspended” the plan, not cancelled or opted against. Just suspended. It won’t surprise me if they slowly start implementing different bans against specific nsfw content until they end up at the original plan.
@@vbamq They're doing it slowly so other forms of content will be posted there and they hope that will grow. Once that form of content is pretty common then they'll remove the explicit content
My guy, they made millions in revenue off of thirsty dudes. The other kind of content they claim they want there, can be found so easily on RU-vid. I'm neutral on the issue, I'm just saying. They will have no exclusivity on their platform if they have stuff on there, that can be found through a simple Google search. Unless someone is so into a person that they'll pay to see them do mundane things. Which is weird in its own way, only people on there finna be stalkers. In my view tho 🤷🏽♂️
The company was willing to insert millions of money loans just to keep Charlie’s account active in the site considering the money he was generating for the company
Seriously, what'd they think would happen? That the girls that were sharing nude pics at a price would suddenly become family-friendly content creators?
“Oh only fans banned my main source of income? That’s a okay with me, bro!” Like really? So many people rely on only fans to pay the bills without being exploited by pimps or something

That would mean there is already a functioning time machiene today, since you can only travel back to the point in time where you already have one built. I reckon we start our investigation in the nearest Chuck E Cheese basement.
Most companies know their audience better than people know their community, this is a fucking cloud company that profits off of private porn shorts for their bottom line i dont expect them to be in touch with anything.

My guess: some shareholder meeting with the banks goes like “dude, we can’t just ban porn that’s the whole platform” “No you’re wrong family friendly is where the money’s at” “ok don’t believe me I’ll show you” *bans porn* *income flatlines* “ok you were right bring the porn back”
perhaps the whole thing is a publicity stunt? perhaps they are counting on a rebound, more people will know of the site, but a lot of current users will have a bitter taste in the mouth. could be a calculation
This right here is how the free market SHOULD work. If a company does something shitty, their customers just move on to the competitors. They can't just get away with anything because in order to keep making a profit, they have to keep providing their customers with a better service or product than the competition. Same for their employees - if the employees are dissatisfied, they, too, can move on to competing companies that specialize in the same thing and employ the same sorts of people. And that's exactly why monopolies are so terrible - if a company HAS no competitors, it essentially has absolute power to fuck over both its customers and its employees in any way they please, because what are they gonna do about it? Their only options are to put up with it or stop using the service/buying the product/quit their job. Now, let's look at RU-vid. Does RU-vid have any viable competitors? Sure, there's sites like Vimeo, DailyMotion or Metacafe, but who the hell uses those? They have no hope of competing with a giant like RU-vid. Now think of all the shitty things RU-vid has done to fuck over users and content creators alike. Could they have gotten away with it if there was another site people could've moved on to? A site that could provide viewers with enough content creators to watch, and content creators with big enough audiences to watch them? RU-vid desperately needs ACTUAL competition, for the good of us all.
Your acting like it’s easy to go up against RU-vid, RU-vid is backed by google, unless another site pops up backed by a huge corporation nothing can stop it.

It makes it even more confusing that they planned on releasing a more family-friendly version of OnlyFans anyway so there was literally no incentive to ban them all
Same thing as RU-vid and RU-vid Kids, they released a separate platform for child friendly content, but still enforce Family friendly content guidelines on normal RU-vid

I can't imagine a lot of people feeling safe to go back when they even considered making a decision this hilariously bad, does not inspire confidence. No matter what they do at this point its going to be a permanent hit to them.
Yeah, I can't see thousands of people who just had a big chunk of their earning potential yanked out from under them suddenly turning around and coming back after setting up profiles on other sites. Has a serious "returning to the abusive relationship you just escaped from" vibe.
As I said on the last video, there’s no point to being more investor-friendly when you have to tank your whole business to do it. Not sure why they only realized this now.
It is not about investors but payment providors. Quite a large difference. They are extremely harsh on sexually explicit content. They probably only got a grace period, hence the 'suspended'.

To be fair to the Runescape thing, they had to go nuclear because they were literally about to lose the ability to process payments due to chargebacks from gold sellers and scammers. Onlyfans tried to use that same excuse but Mastercard themselves was like "We never said they had to ban porn they came up with that 100% on their own"

OF has had a longstanding untrustworthy relationship with sex workers. Tons of artists have lost money because the platform banned their accounts without explaining why or allowing them to appeal. Only a few have had their accounts reinstated when it went viral on other social media
@@jonathan0berg Ignoring any comments on "promiscuity", but sex for work itself, especially internet porn, produces a lot of really awful thoughts and feelings that can only be justified by blaming the people feeling those things; you are the problem for hurting. Such as, "Stop trying to control our sexuality!", or, "You are a prude, just enjoy yourself!". Go check comments of even wholesome porn videos, you see dozens upon dozens of "Oh god I hate myself", with hatred, self and outward, and intense jealously and despair overflowing. Porn fundamentally relies on you imagining yourself having or being with the actors; something that is utterly dangerous, as you do not know and cannot be with them. This contradiction naturally produces mass violence. Not only this, but the direct monetary and social rewards for sex heavily encourage non-sex workers to try and put themselves in this position; degrading them and hurting the consumers.

To be fair the tumblr situation was a bit different, the porn ban came about because tumblr could not control the underground child porn networks and since tumblr was dogshit at moderating it's platform (literally you could look up and find animal porn) they just outright banned the porn to please Apple so they could stay in the Apple Play Store.
This is exactly like when When Tumblr did away with hentai. History truly repeats itself. Honestly Only Fans isn't good for much, cuz Twitch & Patreon has the non nsfw market
I love it too because the CEO basically said "there was nothing we could do the banks made us" and it's like no there's 100% things you couldve done, you couldve fought for your users and creators but instead caved immediately
I hope this actually happened, the idea of banks settling out of court hoping to avoid a lawsuit because they coerced a business into killing itself is really funny to me.
I want to believe that OnlyFans complied with the banking demands simply so they could threaten to sue over the losses, but I doubt that would hold up.
"suspended," as in "when the heat dies down we fully intend to do this later again." A whole bunch of people said they are not going back and I fully support that, because this company obviously has more of the same stuff different day in store.
Nah, I’d be genuinely surprised if they actually did this again. I mean they saw how eliminating 90% of the content on the site made them lose popularity, but what could drive them to do it again? I get the pressure from banks and things, and that they’ve had problems in the past with moderation, even then shutting down all explicit content seems extreme and especially after they banned it and everyone left. I’m not a CEO though so I could be completely wrong, just the way I see it.
let them try again the heat will come back whenever they do. unless, of course, there’s no more fuel to make the heat with, i.e. when pretty much everyone is gone after several rounds of the same shit

It's gotta be odd though to work at onlyfans lol.. they create a service for Hollywood and sports stars to interact with fans, but somehow your totally family friendly idea morphs itself into a pornography powerhouse. When a company becomes desperate, they will do ANYTHING to make money, which turns people to think they aren't a type a company to be trusted because they have become desperate for money. making them reversing any choice they've done wrong, or just trying to do what they can to prevent a company from shutting down.

I mean, it's just them clearly stating that "We don't want to have to fix the problem that allows cp to exist on our platform, so we'll just ban everyone and *pretend* we did."
I always thought they were making that policy change because they had to legally for some reason. The fact that they chose to voluntarily do this is incomprehensible
If I recall correctly, when they first launched, they hadn't intended on being a porn site, then everyone had joked and memed on them saying that people would probably only use it for porn or things of a similar nature. I joked about it, too. There is NO way they have operated this long, being this successful, without seeing the memes or hearing the general consensus about their platform. If OnlyFans wanted to pull some shit like this they should have either said no porn right off the bat when people joked about it or created an OnlyAdults section or launch a new site cause then they'd see where the money's coming from without losing their income and pissing off all their old creators. Don't create this big of a problem if you can't offer a solution, otherwise you won't be the one to offer it, it'll be someone else and they'll be the ones to profit. RIP OnlyFans
yeah I remember going to Onlyfans before the announcement of the porn ban, and seeing actual SFW creators there, I remember seeing Musicians, Chefs and even Trainers, and I immediately went, "Wtf? I did not expect SFW stuff on here".
You would be surprised how detached rich ppl are from "normal living", have you seen what some companies do, regardless of the outcry. Look at the culling, somehow they managed to tank a decent game. All because they got a bit of money.
They were gonna go bankrupt if they didn't remove it regardless. Payment partners are flexing their power to get rid of any sexual content that use their payment methods. Seems like a desperate move for Onlyfans to try and say they won't ban it despite it probably being Bullshit.
I expect OnlyFans to go under. They not only are back pedaling all the way but they also said they "suspended" the change. So they likely secured a short term fix for the banks but will 100% try to revisit this again. People should just leave the site to die since they clearly don't actually gaf
When I saw an Only Fans ad on RU-vid showing on the family room TV, I freaked my shit out scrambling for the remote. I honestly thought Only Fans was legit just porn, but NOOOOOOOOOOOO
Do you remember in the first Iron Man movie when Tony Stark shut down the weapons division at his weapons company? Things worked out for him the end. Unfortunately for Onlyfans they don't have the arc reactor to fall back on.
Onlyfans thought: "What would it be like if I died?" And when it experienced hell, came back to life, but it was already buried and the funeral had ended
I still say that there needs to be more coverage over the bank and payment processors and how they effected this. Hell, this isn't the only time they've ruined shit like this. When the banks come to you and go "Oh hey, we don't support what you're doing and we're going to make life really hard for your business, cause we can use our control over finances to force our morals on your business!" there is a problem. A big one. Just wanted to say that.
They choked in their own words by announcing to ban porn, and then they regretted it. And came back told the simps "I promise i'll let yall watch the cervix, and i won't do it again"
