I love how aggressive it sounds like they're tired of hiding behind the glamorization of Korea. the album has 3 heavy sounding songs and 3 very soft ones. the soft ones rlly sound like wanting to run away to me ngl

the contrast between the visuals and the message they're trying to convey is so powerful. the music video and the song are so aggressive and flashy, representing Seoul's neon lights but, as the description says, not everyone is happy in these city lights, which is portrayed by the lyrics.

it's really cool that they talked about specifically Soul and how hectic life is in Korea and how you can feel super confused when you are struggling with identity issues inside such a busy and workaholic society,they captured it really well with how Yoojung and Kb are meeting it feels like finally finding some community and a place where you feel welcomed and finally becoming free and shining again

I think we have a baby lyOn on our hands... 🦁🎶 Since I watch YT on my tv, I don't read the MV blurb. When you started reading I was in tears. It's as you've said, although OOO has chosen to concentrate on a specific element of the voiceless, their songs are anthems for anyone who is considered 'other'. Our megacities truly represent the best of humanity but have magnified the ultimate human condition of feeling alone. The brilliance of these cities hide the scars of our humanity. Actually, their whole discography can be connected but especially the instinct era, underground idol and seoul drift. It keeps telling one story of this boy discovering himself) Their storytelling is actually very epic, I really recommend reading into it

the pairs/units actually weren't created for underground idol btw but have been around for about two years now ^^ ever since libido

7:46 "we become light and get more freedom" this lyric reminds me of "begin" cuz in begin's bridge, YooJung sings "you're a light, stop worrying, throw yourself into that darkness" and in the chorus, "when you're free from any prejudice, freedom will begin" Idk I may be overthinking it but it's my observation lol. I love SeOul drift and The UndergrOund idOl so much, there are lots of references to older MVs and music. Their concepts always connect together seamlessly. You mentioned instinct a lot not only here but also in the ChrOme arts reaction, which is really cool because it shows how well OnlyOneOf gets their point across. They previously released their album Instinct part 1 and part 2 which was heavily focused on self discovery, religious guilt and acceptance. I heavily recommend you check their Libido title track (Also the guilty pleasure version) if you ever decide to dive into more ooo content ,it was the track that made a lot of people discover them and it gives a lot of insight on their group concept as a whole. The mv and song are both full of references to their previous songs and mvs. It's always a treat, because re-watching and -listening keeps rewarding you with new details that you spot. (A lot of which have been mentioned in the comments here.) My favourite non-storyline reference in the song is "Boswell", which is presumably a reference to both Sean and to John Boswell. Sean Boswell is the main character in 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift', hence 'seOul drift' and all the car and speed references (later in the franchise, Sean designed rocket engines for the military, and the song lyrics also reference rockets). John Boswell, on the other hand, was a Yale professor and historian, who studied marginalised groups in society, especially homosexuals. He was both an out gay man and a devout Catholic, who opposed the way the church talked about homosexuality, and is known for his controversial but somewhat influential theories about early Christianity being much more accepting of gay people and same-sex unions.

James Boswell, the biographer of Samuel Johnson, whoms surname in english media has become a solid term for a constant companion and observer. " I'm lost without my Boswell "

I genuinely think this is my favorite OOO seOul drift reaction. The more you zeroed in on key lyrics and scenes the more I loved this song and video. And that's saying a lot cause it was an instant favorite on first watch. I couldn't figure out what word I wanted to use to describe the song but aggressive is definitely it. This is such a good message and honestly after I was over my initial shock, it made me feel reassured about myself (even though I've always been confident in my sexuality). I hope it reaches the ones that need to hear it and beyond. They deserve the recognition

It's interesting to see how they are building/exploring the couples - you can see them already in LibidO (tho back then Love was still in the group so it was two couples and one triad/love triangle) and Skinz. I like how they explore the themes they can tell with that perspective and yes giving a voice to minorities in this way. I really loved this whole album, and while seOl drift is not my favourite song by them, I do like it quite a lot. It was interesting to hear your thoughts on OOO's music like always^^

I guess you are right, that they might be setting up meetings with each other over phone calls cuz throughout the mv, we haven't seen any other person in the places they are, they met in private cuz yk, seOul can be very conservative.
