We have the Onnais lock on our trailer and we really like it. One nice thing you didn't mention is it has a real full sized key. The keys that come with trailers are wimpy and cheap. Several of my friends have snapped off the factory keys on their rigs.
Great question! We'll contact Onnais and find out. We've had this thing installed for a while and need to give everyone an update anyway. Thanks for watching!
It took me a couple of days after I installed it, but I was eventually able to get the strike plate on the door frame adjusted just right and the door opens and shuts much better now. We'll have an update on how it's all working in a few weeks, but right now, it's working really well. The lock itself is very nice.
Just realized I didn't specifically answer your question about the locking mechanism. It was kind of sticky and didn't work all the time, but now it works great now.
From the negative reviews on Amazon, it seems this lock has a lifespan of 6 months(if you're one of the lucky ones). I guess that's the going rate these days.
We haven't had any problems with it and it's definitely more solid and secure than our previous lock (Latch It) for sure. If you're interested, there's a 10% Amazon discount link and a 15% discount link from the Onnais website in the video description.
Just curious if you have any experience with RV lock? We have an RV lock on our 390 and we have a tough time getting the deadbolt to hit the jam correctly. I've made many adjustments to the striker plate and nothing seems to help. Sometimes it works perfectly and others it takes 3 or 4 tries while we push in on the door. Curious if it is the lock or the door. Certainly is frustrating.
Our last keyless door lock was a Latch It lock, so we don't have any experience with RV Lock. However, I did have some issues getting the deadbolt on this new lock to move freely into the door jam. It took several adjustments and some "mechanical agitation" of the strike plate to get it working consistently. And by that, I mean...I took a hammer to it. This had nothing to do with the lock itself. I've had trouble with this door since we bought it. Just another one of those "perks" of living in an RV. LOL.
Great video! I'm getting ready to do the same one today and also have a Momentum. I just installed the front door's lock and discovered that the plastic slider on the screen door hits the lock when the door is closed. That said, the slider must be open in order to shut the main door from the outside. Did you have this problem? Jason
Yeah, we have the same problem. Didn't notice until a few days later. Not really a problem...until we forget about it and break it! Maybe I should order one as a spare! 😂🤣
Great question. I should have covered that! There's only one size. Their site says it fits most RV's. This is what the description on Amazon says..."This camper door lock replaces standard handles, measuring approximately 3.75" x 2.75" x 1.5", offering a more discreet solution."
Installing now and the end plate screws dont seem to be threaded properly. They dont screw in all the way, leaving them exposed and unable to close door.
@@fairwindsrv Ithats what I thought at first, but removed lock and tried screws with lock out. Same issue. Maybe I got a bad one. Going to swap out and see. Thx for replying
