Web slingers: a spider-man adventure and spider-man W.E.B. adventure is an interactive dark ride in the American theme park Disney California Adventure Park and the French theme park Walt Disney Studios Park . In both parks, the attraction is located in the Avengers Campus themed area.
The attraction is all about the superhero Spider-Man . The story behind the dark ride is that visitors join the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB) and come to the rescue of Spider-Man to take out so-called Spider-Bots. This is done from vehicles that follow a track and can rotate around their own axis. During the ride, visitors pass screens on which 3D animation images are shown. Visitors must shoot targets with their hands. There are sensors in the vehicles that determine the occupant's hand movements and can calculate where someone is aiming. Compared to the 'classic' interactive dark ride, no laser pistols are used. This technique has previously been applied in the Legoland attraction lego ninjago The Ride . Before visitors make the actual ride in the vehicles, they are first shown a pre-show. The leading role in this is played by Tom Holland.
The Walt Disney Studios Park attraction opened to visitors on July 20, 2022 , replacing the former Armageddon - Les Effets Speciaux attraction . In the days before, the attraction had already been opened for staff, guests and media. Initially, the version was scheduled to open in France in 2021, but it has been postponed for a year due to the corona pandemic. The dark ride is almost identical to the version in Disney California Adventure Park and goes by the name Spider-Man WEB Adventure. Only French is spoken in the preshow. This is subtitled in English.
