ABOUT:
The musicologist Pierre Schwickerath spotted an original manuscript of Jean-Antoine Zinnen’s composition in the collections of the Bibliothèque nationale. The score is set for men’s chorus TTBB and symphony orchestra (not for wind band, as it has been previously claimed).
The composer Ivan Boumans has been commissioned to adapt and arrange an extensive set of versions: for chamber orchestra, symphony orchestra with SATB ad libitum, wind ensemble and SATB ad libitum, as well as versions for mixed or men’s chorus with piano accompaniment.

This new version of the National Anthem has been first performed in public at the Official Ceremony of the Luxembourg National Day (23/06/2024).
Nonetheless, a first TV broadcast of this version has been released on December the 24th 2023 at the occasion of the Grand Duke's traditional speech on Christmas Eve.
That version has been performed by the Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg under the direction of Corinna Niemeyer

Le musicologue Pierre Schwickerath a découvert un manuscrit original de la composition de Jean-Antoine Zinnen dans les collections de la Bibliothèque nationale. La partition est destinée au chœur d’hommes TTBB et à l’orchestre symphonique (et non à un orchestre d'harmonie, comme cela a été affirmé précédemment).
Le compositeur Ivan Boumans a été chargé d'adapter et d'arranger un vaste ensemble de versions : pour orchestre de chambre, orchestre symphonique avec SATB ad libitum, ensemble à vent et SATB ad libitum, ainsi que des versions pour chœur mixte ou d'hommes avec accompagnement de piano.

Cette nouvelle version de l'Hymne National a été executée pour la première fois en publique lors de la Cérémonie Officielle de la Fête Nationale Luxembourgeoise (23/06/2024).
Néanmoins, une première diffusion télévisée de cette version a été diffusée le 24 décembre 2023 à l'occasion du traditionnel discours du Grand-Duc la veille de Noël.
Cette version a été interprétée par l'Orchestre de Chambre du Luxembourg sous la direction de Corinna Niemeyer
