You think the governent controls the behaviour of large corporations and the super wealthy asset holders? Chronic haters like you seem to have a hard time separating out public and private greed.
Not to worry because when PP’s Prime Minister of Canuckland , a litre of gas will come down to 1.15$ a litre. The price of housing in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary and Toronto will come down a whopping 45% and in some cases 60%. All children born will be healthy and brilliant. Cancer will be cured. Older folks will be able to avoid going to nursing homes …. why ? ….. just because. I can’t wait.
@@muteloch2798 If we addressed HALF the corruption and incompetence within gov't, we'd be a whole lot richer on the tax payer dime, too! Look how much wasted and unaccounted for money the current PMO has dumped in the last 8 years alone. AND provide these huge corps with huge subsidies. It's insanity.
You can't compare to another country half way around the world, they make less, food and housing are also part of the equation. I agree it's too much here but you only need to look south of our border to see how we're being ripped off.
Ford has cut the tax for the past year and extended the cut for the rest of this year. Trudeau has had his hands in our pockets since 2015. Get it right!
Corporate greed is everywhere, not just oil companies. Same in housing, groceries, utilities, all aspects of life. Heading to a 2 class society. 😢 10% rich 90% poor. The beautiful middle class is dying by design!
Govt greed and corruption are at the top of the list. When companies see what the govt gets away with, they join in the party! It all starts with government!
You ignore the elephant in the room TRUDEAU is responsible for ALL of it because he is printing money like there's no tomorrow. Then you have too much money chasing too few goods and the price of everything skyrockets! Add to that the fact that in our vast empty country EVERYTHING is affected by the price of fuel...and Trudeau spikes those prices by adding his carbon tax ,so unicorns won't go extinct.
There isn't enough competition in this country to bring down prices of anything. The politicians and legislative bodies have been bought and paid for by lobbyists and the entities that pay them.
Yup. Diesel is the by product of refining gasoline. It takes more energy to produce super unleaded and pollutes more as well during the refining process versus diesel. Diesel should be way cheaper like it was back in the day.
I once saw a semi at a gas station. I asked him why he was filling up here. He said diesel was cheaper here than at the commercial fuel stations. That really shouldn't happen.
Market competition. Folks in NY state are more likely to walk/take public transit rather than drive if the prices get too high. Here in Ontario we just accept the higher prices because important things are often too far away to walk/bus/train to.
@@NoChance18by that logic. Texas gas price is $3.28 a gallon which translates to 86 cents/litre. A state that barely does public transportation and requires a vehicle to go anywhere
@@NoChance18NY state, not NY city. NY state is just as spread out and rural as Ontario (maybe moreso) and their gas is 3.50$ a gallon (around 4 liters).
He did the only thing he could do and that was remove the Ontario tax, which he did last year and no doubt the provincial Libs and commie party would never have done that. Your gripe goes up to the progressive nut bars in Ottawa.
@@jordan8056I bet you whine about the cost of your bus fare, a cab, your groceries and all sorts of other things that go up with the price of gas, but drivers should drive less and stop complaining….. OK
@@jordan8056 LOL - so you’re an elitist that doesn’t care what happens to the parts of the world that pay the massive subsidies for your travel, but can’t use it.
@@BigBore525x How do you fix pure greed? You don't, you send in someone who can sell you the same thing in a better way and they greedily fight for your business. But we don't like competition here in Canada. Loblaws, Walmart only win when the risk is too great for such little reward in success.
@@joka5345 Is he, or do you not remember, that he has done all he can to lower the price of gas to try and keep it more affordable. He is not a great conservative leader, but he is at least trying unlike a def Federal government
Did someone just climb out from under a rock ? I’m 44 it’s done this my whole life. Maybe the rich politicians should all look up at price signs at gas stations. Welcome to the real world ya clowns .
At least he’s staving off collecting all the taxes the most incompetent premier the province has ever had…The tax and spend Catherine Wynn and her lunatic fringe friend jerry Butts
StatsCan online report shows that Calgary gasoline price rose by 33% during Harper govt ('06-'15), and only 30% during Trudeau ('15-'24) as of Mar.2024 @ $1.47. Toronto gasoline price rose by 20% during Harper, and 49% during Trudeau, as of Mar.2024 @ $1.59. Sounds like Harper increased gas prices more than Trudeau, but Ontario increased gas prices more than the feds.
🙏Thank you Hon. Doug Ford, Premier of Ontario! 🇨🇦 🙏 Pierre Poilievre 4 PM 🇨🇦 🙏Thank you Deputy CPC Leader Melissa Lantsman 🇨🇦 🙏Axe The Tax! 🙏 🙏Spike The Hike! 🙏
How much tax is on a litre of gas or diesel. This reminds me of Horgan in BC. Investigated all the price structres in petroleum except the provincial tax part.
Government in Canada continues to make it more expensive to extract oil and gas, what does the premier suggest they do, they have to raise prices to pay the government...
Great to hear Ford address this. The BIG question is what’s he going to do about it and how soon? Where was he when rent hikes were being pushed down on the tenants? Why were rent controls not legislated?
See Thomas Sowell on "Labour Unions". "Labour unions" , he said, "do not support workers, they support unions". "That's why the inevitable result of unionization is always job losses". " The exception of course is the public sector unions because they think they have access to unlimited capital...tax payer's money!"
@@ianjackson3346 StatsCan also shows that Alberta gas rose by 33% during Harper govt ('06-'15), and only 30% during Trudeau ('15-'24). As of Mar.2024, Alberta unleaded $1.47.
Smart move on behalf of the oil companies. It's not our insatiable greed that caused this spike in gas prices. BLAME TRUDEAU. BLAME TRUDEAU. Most Ontarians will fall for that...
Texas price on gas 2.35 a gallon that equates to 78 cents Canadian a litre Do you think oil companies are gauging in Texas to No it’s to much taxes on gas in a Canada
then put a stop to it like they do in the east coast. there is no reason for these hikes. gas price were way higher 6 7 years ago with 180 per barrel now at 84 the cost per liter is more than it was at 180.
Bottled water can't be produced without factories burning fuel and can't be transported to stores without trucks burning fuel, and can't be sold to customers without stores who are also dependent on burning fuel
I never got a chance to . I was one of the essential workers that Doug ford wanted police to stop and ask where I was going when we were under lockdown ….. I don’t forget it . Had a sign made up for my back window “ essential work don’t pull me over and waste my time or yours “
Oil companies are ones in power and who run the earth. Simply Cus we let them remain in power. But yeah gas prices across Canada are insane. From east to west coast of BC.
Not a fan of Dougie, but it's nice to finally hear a politician call out O&G companies for their gouging....honestly surprised that it's a Conservative Premier doing it, but hey,...I'll take it! Oh, does everyone remember that 60 years ago when this was predicted, and the Government of Canada wanted to nationalize our energy, but the Conservatives said NOPE!
Dougie could reduce the provincial tax on gasoline; he could reduce the provincial sales tax to 5% but he’d rather blame others for his incompetence than do anything.
