Born and raised there from 73-92 when I left for the Army. I've been going back every few years since 92...it's unfortunate that many areas have degraded as they have. I enjoyed growing up in Ontario but I don't know if I'd promote that idea now. Interesting route you took on this to showcase the town, I do appreciate you posting this...brings back some great memories!
I've lived here for 40 years. Will soon have the money to move, thank God! The average mindset is still stuck back in the 1800s. Manhood around here, is measured by, how many head of cows you have, and how often you beat your wife and children. The school system is atrocious, they do nothing about bullying. When it comes to positions of leadership for the city or county, nothing improves much, because of the systemic embezzlement that takes place, and has for many years.
My old neighborhood has gone to hell. It use to have beautifully groomed yards filled with flowers. All the houses were well cared for at the north end of Main Street.

Spent a good chunk of the 70's growing up in Ontario. Drove through on a vacation a few years ago and it is certainly not the same great little town. Every third business is now a pot shop and the town is undoubtedly depressed. Perhaps the people will pull off the "Greater Idaho" conversion and some sense of normalcy will return.
Glad I saw this comment, I’ve been researching cities in Oregon to move to, and Ontario was one of the towns on my list. Maybe I’ll just stick to Idaho 🤷♂️
@@ookie4179 I’m in Arizona now but considering Idaho myself. It certainly has some beautiful areas. McCall was always a favorite but it grew up and went hyper expensive.
You cant ever find a place to live homeless will sleep anywhere and cops wont ever do anything, everyone is either using meth or selling it, all gangbangers and the police dont do shit. This place is freaking sad lol I'm moving asap
