Ooda Loop is one of the most mentioned decision-making models in the context of zero distance solutions (self- defense, use of force, CQB/CQC)
The concept was developed by col. John Boyd for the fighter pilots during the Korean war in the 1950s, the frame-work is nowadays very popular to all decision-making.
The key is to make the "loop" your second nature and this is where the ecological dynamics learning theory comes to play.
Once you train your "zero distance solution" by ecological dynamics, you get to work with OODA-loop constantly: PERCEPTION -ACTION COUPLING
In the threat situations you have more time to collect the information, to observe and orient and by active methods turn this information to decisions and actions.
Then when there is no time to observe but respond, once you have trained to do that with as real information (attack behavior) as possible in variable environments and situations, you're not doing "techniques" but you are solving problems.
