Recently watched an interview with Yoshimi, in Japanese with subs. She said much to the effect that she's not interested in being another generic pop star, and cares more about enjoying doing her own thing than being happy about how much dough she's raking in. She's fascinated with stuff like indigenous Ainu cultural expression. Incidentally I think the guitarist is Kyoko, who has passed away.
Wow this is crazy it’s like they got stuck in the 60s for a thousand years and absorbed all of the energy of 60s rock alt stuff and then popped into our generation and is playing it all concentrated.
