I love hearing your thoughts when you're out with your birds. It's not only entertaining but insightful! I'm starting to raise my own ABC. I'll be purchasing my first batch of chicks from TRH. I love watching both you and he discuss your (and his) birds. You have such compassion and deep knowledge. It's awe inspiring to me.

TRH has very good chicks. The key is listen to what Madelyn says and grow your flock the way you want to focus on! I am in NJ I buy same food and it is night and day compared to the feed TSC or feed stores have! You’re watching the guru of ABC! Keep us posted on your new flock!

The hard part is speaking as much as I can, since for years it was just a little inner monologue as I watched or handled birds. Comparing this or that trait, breaking birds apart in my mind into their various parts and pieces, deciding what was most important for the season to select for, to work at improving the following season. Now, learning how to empty out what's been hoarded up in my head for all the little details.

Very interesting! I’m raising my last flock of Cornish Cross! Looking for a breed that’s sustainable…

Switching to sustainable birds is tricky but fun. You essentially have to learn how to become your own breeder to keep the supply going, which is more intensive than just getting eggs to hatch.
