this shows how diverse Queen was, they could write, sing and play any genre from ballad to thrash metal they did it all. You have oh so many more songs to discover. All 4 members have had no1 hits and no other band have achieved that,
The sax is played by Steve Gregory who distinguished himself In George Michael’s song careless whisper The song is part of the soundtrack of the movie highlander
God... Freddie was good in every genre. He sang whatever and however he wanted. And he did it amazingly. There are a lot of talented, technical, gifted vocalists, but Freddie is beyond these lists. He's taller
It's a beautiful song. This is another tracks from Highlander the movie. Freddie sung it beautifully. Thank you very much Mr. & Mrs. Coach for your great reaction. You always makes me smile. Stay safe and Love you both❤
Abother song from the Highlander, written by Brian is "Gimme the Prize". This is for the villian character, totally unique, and Freddie said it was very difficult for him to sing. The video has part of the movie scenes, as does "Princes of the Universe " written by Freddie for the Highlander.
Thanks! As Mrs Coach says - yet another side to Queen. That is why Queen is widely considered to be a genre all of their own! Lovely romantic, yet rather melancholy song, that John wrote as his contribution towards the Queen soundtrack to the film Highlander. He decided to switch out the guitar parts and use the sax, so Brian isn't part of the song, and Roger only comes in with his tambourine! That's probably why they never performed it live. John was the one who liked romantic songs and ballads, which Freddie indulged him with despite Brian and Roger preferring rock...
Freddie can really demonstrate the emotions. Coach since you were so positive in this I think you should react to Headlong, enjoy. Blessings from England. This is from Highlander film x
Love the way you two give us a glimpse of your relationship and joy in listening to Queen. Here's a video you should absolutely share. Man On The Prowl by Queen. It's that hard driving rock 'n roll vibe while showcasing all members of the band. Freddie's guitar playing, Roger's drums are getting hammered, while Brian's guitar is singing for real. John gets to show off some dance steps and Spike Edney on the piano is playing lights out! Love, love, love it!
hello my darlings thank you for your Queen songs post every time I will remind you of my suggestion every time lest you forget! thank you and I'm counting on you once again.....but I know that I trust you!
One of the most beautiful songs ever written by John Deacon! And of course, Freddie’s vocals are scrumptious!! 🫠❣️Yes, one of the brilliant compositions from the 1986 Highlander film! Each Queen member wrote a song for the soundtrack. Check out DON’T LOSE YOUR HEAD (written by Roger Taylor). 🛡⚔️💥🗡
This is John's contribution to the Queen Soundtrack for the movie Highlander. I think this song is so beautiful. I believe this is a dance scene in bar or something in the movie and it is certainly perfect for something like that. Thanks to both of you and I hope all is going well with your moving stuff.
The film " highlander " was fantastic and the soundtrack by queen was perfect, they made up for the disaster of flash Gordon with highlander , and freddies version of new york new york was amazing
Queen were a recording band that you could definitely not one you could label and place in the one drawer. Diversity tracks can include; Dancer, Seaside Rendezvous, Man on the Prowl, The Hitman, You and I, Bring Back That Leroy Brown, My Baby Does Me. etc... all good stuff.
Hello Mr & Mrs Coach. Pain is so close to Pleasure is a song from the film Highlander. In my opinion I prefer this to the other ballard that was released from the film Who Want to live Forever. Thank you to whoever suggested it to you & for your reaction to it. Just shows how Queen could cover any sort of song type.
Thanks, Coachies... such a beautiful song... and Damn, Freddie! lol (p.s. written for the movie "Highlander".. if you see the movie, you'll get the context.. also there were other great songs they wrote for that movie... "who wants to live forever" is one....)
If you watch the official video for a song by Sir Brian Who Wants To Live Forever you'll see where the other sounds come from as I'm guessing it's recorded at the same time as this one which features on Highlander and I think Roger wrote Kind Of Magic again for the same film
The sax is played by Steve Gregory who you also may have heard on George Michael's Careless Whisper....he also has his own solo album on which John Deacon makes an appearance. For an outside Queen experience try Love Is the Hero by Billy Squier with Freddie. Make sure you do the Extended version as it contains an awesome Freddie intro not used on the album Version because the record company thought it might confuse listeners into thinking they got a Queen album instead. As Billy replied "We all should have such problems"
This song was on A Kind of Magic, the soundtrack album for the 1986 movie Highlander. They had several excellent songs on this album, including 'Hammer to Fall' and 'One Vision', which you have already reacted to. Other songs of the album that are worth a listen are 'A Kind of Magic', which was also the name of the concert at Wembley in 1986, 'Who Wants to Live Forever', also on that concert, and 'Princes of the Universe', which there is only the music video, but it has a cameo from Christopher Lambert, who is the star of the Highlander movies.
@@CoachCastTV One more thing: In the film, they also played the song 'Hammer to Fall', which was not included on the soundtrack but was on their 1984 album, The Works.
Hey team. Good job. Appreciate ya. Still on the table for Mr coach is “was it all worth it “💥💥💥 a new one for Mrs coach is “who wants to live forever “. There are great live versions but maybe start with the studio track first 💗. Even the ballads with queens music & Freddie’s voice make them tolerable 😆
This song was written for the movie soundtrack for Highlander. They all wrote songs for it. This is one of my favorites. You should listen to Princes of the Universe. It was also in the movie. Coach would like that song better.
The song was written by John and sung by Freddie for the film Highlander. The album version features John playing a Yamaha DX-7 synth and a string orchestra conducted by Lynton Naiff. The saxophone is played by Steve Gregory, a session musician who had previously performed on Wham!’s 1984 hit, “Careless Whisper”. Brian did not perform at all during this recording. Brian stated, in 1986, "John wrote it, and that was written around a different romantic interest. It’s about the Highlander as he is in the 20th century when he’s just about to fall in love again, even though he said he wouldn’t - har har! That’s a romantic song too.”
The guy who played Sax on this was an Amateur and nailed it on Careless Whisper. The song Careless Whisper was recorded in the UK and was the second version. The original version was recorded in the USA with a Professional Producer and a Profession Sax Player. The Sax Player could not get the feel and the part right. It was pants. Hence the second recording.
Hi folks! Don't sweat it, Mrs. Coach. Not everything is for everyone. You shoulda been there when Metallica put out a song called "Mama Said". If you didn't know it was them, you'd swear it was 100% country. All that matters is that we at least give it a shot. (says the bot who won't eat a single green vegetable excepting peas.) Queen got out six magnificent opi before they stubbed their toe (for me) and that was "Fat Bottomed Girls". I still loath that song, (not loathe, that's too strong) but it's amazing how much fun it is to watch with reactors. (That's so funny what you said about you two liking opposites. My late husband and I never had a cross word because we liked all the same bands, and better, we hated all the same bands. Musical harmony all round.) Yes, that is something. They were really branching out by this point, which makes our loss so much greater. Sax? On the second album, Freddie played a harpsichord. On the fourth album, the Doc played a toy koto (Japanese stringed instrument). Not a real one, a toy. Here, a sax. Timeless lyrics by Deacon, treated so kindly by Freddie-whatever the future would have sounded like with him, they would be scoring it. (Thanks for following me this far!) Love you guys!
Yeah, this one was fine...the sax was a nice touch. Cool that you and your husband were so in tune musically. Sorry for your loss, by the way. We appreciate you very much!
Am I correct in thinking Coach hasn't seen the film " Highlander" ? Queen were asked to do a single song for the fantasy film and ended up doing 6 of them for the film. (little over achievers).
Try a track from a fairly new group called "Greta Van Fleet", they are in the vain of 70s Rock and the singer has a fantastic voice, they are new to me as well.
