4 only got a dub with the SE, which came like 7 years after vanilla DMC4.

Yeah, it's strange. The first time Dante and Vergil got Japanese voices in a game was Marvel 3, and they kept Toshiyuki Morikawa's Dante from the anime a couple years prior.

Same. I really hope she enjoyed it enough to check out the other games and Bayonetta sometime, the cutscenes alone would provide her just as much enjoyment since they had the same director.

With a game like Devil May Cry it's very easy for new players to fall into spamming the same attacks over and over through the game. Don't hold it against them. These games are hard for newcomers lmao

Reminded me of my first time playing. I, too, got my first "Easy Mode is now Selectable" dying to the Hell Vanguard.

DMC3 was my first hack&slash game, I played it together with my classmate after class back in 2007.

She was too hard on herself for picking easy, I and literally every DMC fan I know, including pros, played their first game on easy before eventually working up to normal.

Normal kicks your ass the first time.

They say once you see blood splatter on the title 2-3 times, Easy Mode becomes Selectable.

@@kin4386 I hate that you're right, but you also eternally stay a beginner and don't get to enjoy the experience of getting better and creating your combos if you just play easy. Which is kind of the point.

@@BygoneT Well practicing and actually getting good at the game wasn't the point of her playthrough. The point was to experience the cool characters, fun gameplay and story of a game she likes and share it with her fans. Most fans likely didn't care about her admittedly poor performance because they just liked seeing her reactions to the cool and wacky shit in the game. That's how I felt at least, because I know what kind of games these are. DMC isn't a game made for "casual gamers", they are made for people who play things like fighting games. Ones that take time and patience to master.

The 'cool factor' was there from the get go, but the story won her over by the end.

IIRC Flare said she didn't mind playing it at all and that it's more of a "normal action" game, but she still finds it interesting. (I might be paraphrasing a bit)
