This is seriously my favorite of all the OP-1 sequencers, in fact it's my favorite sequencer in any synth I've ever owned. Works great with both synths and drums.

One other thought for TE, you guys should add a Legato mode to Finger. It would work kinda like Replace except that it would maintain the sequence position, that way you could use it to do fills. Example: two sequences A & B with 16 steps, play A through step 12, hold B and it would start at step 13 (instead of 1, like in Replace), play B for 4 steps, switch to A and it would start at step 1 (instead of 13). Sequence A could have alternating Kick/Snare on quarter notes, sequence B could have a 4 step fill on steps 13-16. Make more sequences like B with different kinds of fills. Differing sequence lengths would be less predictable but that seems to be okay with Finger.

Please. Could you folks do a tutorial about all ways to storage and save sounds, tapes, etc and how to manage them? Thanks! :D

How cool would it be to copy a drum ‘Pattern’ sequence and drop it under a key in the ‘Finger’ sequence. Not being able to preview a sound and delete one seperately in a box in Fingermode makes it difficult to use.

can you change a single pattern's playback rate without changing the others? to have one pattern play at 2x or 4x for fills and rolls?

no, you'd have to program two different patterns exactly like you'd want them.

Why is there no way to simply live play sample drum kits over tape recording and have them quantized?

because it's literally a tape

How to you speed it up or slow it down my friend was messing w mine and I can figure it out

you can press tempo and turn blue to adjust bpm. this will be reflected in the sequencers also.

I still don’t exactly get how it worked, i.e. how you went from the 0:42 step to the 1:07 improvisation. Are these two examples unrelated? You said each key on the “piano keyboard” is a sequence of its own - and it appears that at 0:42 you edited the sequence on the F key (the leftmost), but at 1:07 you’re playing sequences written into the G-C keys that were prepared in advance and weren’t edited during the 0:42 step, right? The leftmost “pianist” keeps playing the irregular 9-step C sequence you keep pressing, while the rightmost one plays whatever you’re playing on the G-B keys because it’s the JOIN mode? If I understood it right, then it’s pretty much a Jarre-style tape-on-each-key sequencer that looks and functions in a very awesome way. Really impressive toolkit!

exactly, you got it! so the first example is showing how to program a simple sequence to one of the white keys (F in this case) and the next step is showing how to jam with the other already preprogrammed sequences (G-C). each key can be programmed to play a up-to-32-step-long pattern. you can program chords or simple melodies etc. as long as you hold one of the keys down, the next key will play its pattern in sync with the previous. if you put some time into preparing you can really do quite complex and flexible stuff with Finger. good luck with it!

Man it,s a expensive sequencer i have modular,s Moogs even a Musonics, Doepfers, Black & gold shared system ,but this Teenage Engineering OP-1 just sounds like a toy that you record bit,s and pieces of samples too , i just don't get it what so ever,,,
