The OP-1 just got an OS update, and they're introducing a new synth engine called DSynth. It's based on the same engine as the DBOX, but slightly different. It's definitely the deepest of the synths engines within the OP-1 so far. I'm just scratching the surface in this video really, and half of the time I don't have a clue of what I'm doing. But it's great fun, and you can be both dreamy and glitchy with the new synth.

The OP-1 got a new OS upgrade, and with it came DSynth. A new synth engine, based on the DBox engine. More elaborate than the other engines in the OP-1. Here's what it sounds like in my hands. Cheers :)

Thanks Jacques Mongrel! Yeah, they take updates really seriously. I've got a hunch that once the OD-11 launch is done, we might see even more OS updates.

The dsynth is a very unpredictable synth engine, I wonder if they've made any documentation about it so I can fully understand what I'm doing while using it.

Always love watching your videos. Need an OP-1 in my life. Also, dude, if you wanna make some money, put these loops that you make in these videos up for sale. I'd like to use them just to practice drums to! There are tons of drummers just looking for practice loops.

Hey Cuckoo! Loving your videos on the OP-1. I was wondering if/how you could set the LFO to modulate a shift+knob parameter, like the ones used in DSynth.

Yes unfortunately it seems like it's a persistent bug in the OP-1 OS. I've filed a number of bug reports detailing the clip bug, and I hope that they'll find a solution one day.

Thanks Cuckoo for your inspiring demos. The best on youtube! I'm curious what you would have Teenage Engineering add to the OP-1 if you could make requests. I personally am amazed that there is no distortion possibilities in the the effects. I've managed to force distortion by maxing out the levels in the master section, but it would be nice for TE to provide us with some distortion/mangling possibilities IMO.

Thanks Max! Well in terms of suggestions for improvements.. I'd say a clean FM synth would be awesome. The current FM is too limited in my opinion, and the new DSynth touches upon FM stuff, but it's a wacky fellow, isn't it :) So if they put a true FM synth in there (in the style of the Sega Megadrive/Genesis) I'd be a happy person.

The FM synth that comes with the OP-1 is great for that. Fat juicy bass. Or sample any analog synth and load them in the sampler. Unlimited possibilities.

The way you say parameter kills me :) and can you please stop touching the screen my OCD is going crazy. I never thought to put the seq on hold and mess with the knobs! Great idea. I have put it on hold before but just let it go.
