I think the hand control variant is actually the better strategy in this deck for 2 reasons. 1. Most meta decks right now do not have that much draw since leaders like Law and Zoro have seen less play, decks like Saka only have 3-4 cards in hand late game, and removing combo pieces early can help generate advantage. 2. Because your leader ability requires a discard you will probably be low on hand size for lots of games and controlling your opponent's hand will be a way to keep them from out-resourcing you. It will also make your offense more effective which will fill up the enemy's hand for more hand control shenanigans. Sort of like pseudo banish since a card picked up from life could be immediately discarded.
can you tell me what are the key cards for the control variant other than the negative hollow event card? im a newbie who's just about to pick the game when op-06 comes out so i dont have any solid ideas on deckbuilding just yet (ive waited for a halloween/thriller bark themed deck to come out so I can start playing as casual) i read from somewhere that playing perona is better than moria or something like that
@@harouin9263 The key cards would probably be the Negative Hollow Event, the new 4 cost Black Perona character, and the 2k counter black shirahoshi character from set 5. Shirahoshi is a 1 cost that discards from hands of 6, Perona does the same for 5 card hands, negative Hollow has no hand size requirement. The key part is that Moriah can reuse negative hollow and Perona every turn with leader ability. By sequencing those cards every time you can force your opponent to a low hand size constantly and forcing your opponent to take hits.
Yes I did consider this but I didn’t like not having enough counters in hand. Then again the gigoloop could help with counters. Will try out the hand destruction variant 🔥
@@ytnoach i think working on ratio would give you balance among disruption pieces and counters i personally see the potential in hand control. it piqued my interest so I will try it if I get to buy/build a deck sooner
@@Xros808thanks for these notes I just realized there's too much investment needed for moria leader, using his effect is always a -3 don and -1 on hand. is there any way I can work around all requirements? like is there any black card that can spin rested don?
