I don't know what Bandai think when they made Black Maria, the card straight up busted

There should be more leader locking It would make decks feel more unique and prevent the strongest decks from hoarding all the good new cards.

R/P Law is perfectly fine as a card. Gordon and Raise Max make it way too easy to shufle back big boys and clear boards. Hit those and it's fine, just drop 6ks and swing into face till you win. Typically games R/P law doesn't draw a -3k are losses anyway.

A few options to put law in check without banning the leader is : 1.choice restrict black maria and reiju with Leader law so they can't be played together in the same deck Thus nerfing the consistency and don ramping. 2. Limit maria and Kidd blocker to 1 to hit don ramping consistency 3. Choice restrict Gordon and max

I’m not sure why they’re balancing cards so weirdly. Cards that should be leader/type locked aren’t (Moria, Maria, Rebecca, etc.). And cards that shouldn’t be are (newer green cards-their effects aren’t strong enough to warrant it).

Honestly, Reiju is not the issue. Neither is Gordon/Max or Kid Killer. The main issue is a way over tuned card like Black Maria being generic! There shouldn't be an issue with generic decent/nice Red/Purple cards being a indirect support. There is an issue with overtuning a card that clearly should have been leader restricted. In my honest opinion it doesn't hurt the future of new cards as much. Decent/nice cards can be generic, super overtuned stuff like Black Maria, Rebecca & Moria should always be leader restricted. Literally, take away Black Maria & RP Law isn't tier 0 anymore. Alright yes then you have the new Pudding, but she isn't nearly as impactful as BM at all. I honestly don't like leader bans at all, hell even Sakazuki wouldn't be nearly as stupid with Rebecca & Moria If they want to revive old decks with busted support, just don't make it generic. Make it so it is actual new support for that specific leader/type. Tashigi in that sense is a perfect example

I think errata'ing the leader's ability would be pretty okay as well. personally i'd make it so law's removal ability is cooked. like as sets go on he can get better cards to cheat out and even use black maria but killing his ability to control tempo via removal and making him pure aggro/ramp could work (mainly because i feel the removal part of his kit doesn't suit the colour identify even if flavour-wise it's perfect) setting it so law can only remove something that has an original power of less than 3000 seems totally fair imo.

i dont understand why bandai keep putting restriction and limits to green cards like 'if your leader is ___', and don't use it at all in black and purple. Black Maria should be limited to Beast pirates, not to "only one black maria", same for gecko with Thriller, or rebecca with Dressrossa. They could move forward just doing an errata for their type cards, also, that could make some future leader really interesting, like law being dofi family (former) and heart pirates, dragon being former navy and revolutionary. Then, the next step could be limit cards to 1-2... the direct ban is just a patch to a bad game design desition.

I think the biggest problem with law is that his leader effect is so generically good that banning specific cards from the deck doesn't actually solve the problem. Bandai will have to continue to consider law leader when designing generically good 4 or less purple and red cards and I don't think that is really good game design. Lets say they ban black maria. What happens when they print another card that just slots right into law? Are we going to ban that card too? I think the best fix is to either Errata or ban the leader. I do not like restricting cards to 1 because it still allows the decks to be broken but now it just comes down to "Did you hit the 1 of copy of a card in your deck" Also I would love to see law reprinted like sakazuki with the effect: Don -3 play a 4 or less and just completely remove the bottom deck effect.

I think you’re right with Saka shouldn’t have been banned, just cards in the deck (at least restricted) only leaders I think should be banned are Law and Enel who’s leader effects are too OP imo and make it so that all red, purple and yellow support works for them. Lucci is management without Enies lobbies and for gecko if we are banning/restricting cards from specific leader I’d restrict him to 1-2 per other black decks and 4 of for Moria leader. If rplaw gets changed, as you said black will also need tuning, but you forget that blacks is the one gatekeeping yellow from being broken, so yellow will then also need tuning

I think id you hit rp law and black, you would have to hit yellow as well. Notice that it has always being these three colors running the format since the beginning.

I believe in choice restriction of Black Maria cannot be played in RP Law. It gives other decks that wanna play Black Maria

Bandai Just needs to make leader law effect to be forced to target a character card and bottom deck in order for them to play from hand. If nothing is on field then they cant use effect because right now its insane that its free real estate. They don't need targets they just summon for free. This will make games feel different were both players have same pace. Not to fast not to slow. For the last resort just fix all colors in one go.

RP law isn’t Toer 0 byANYeans. In Japan it’s been losing to lucci And tier 0 means 0 chance to lose to anything but itself.

Banning the leader makes the most sense. The individual cards they could ban from his deck aren’t doing anything crazy in other decks. Also banning or restricting moria would be great cuz that card is way too overrate.

So question what decks answer law that are gate kept by black? And as for how to errata law I think you can keep his skill the same but make it so that he can only play 4 cost heart pirates off of skill instead of 4 cost character so it restricts the pay off in the deck and makes it a less of tool boxy deck. As for answering gecko Moria I don’t think it needs to go I think the problem card is spandine. Being able to KO and blocker up is to broken it should have to choose between one or the other. Limiting stage doesn’t really do much because it just gets replaces with either ice age or sheep soap or something like that which is arguably just as annoying as the stage.

I think nerf law is either making law the bottom deck power 0 or making the bottom deck required to summon like 8 cost aramaki

Make the player choose between deploying a character or removing a body… that’s one of the things that makes him so strong: filling your board while clearing the opponents in a very efficient way + restriction of Gordon/raise max to hit consistency

I dont think Lucci is gonna be the BDIF if ever Law gets banned. Coz BY Luffy exists in the format. Hitting Gecko is probably gonna cripple every single black deck except ST14 and that makes the color nearly unplayable. However if BY should reign that means Bonney, Carrot, Perona, Boa should see more playtime, even King, Kaido, Marco, Pudding, and Reiju as well.

OPCG need some adjustment for the ban/restriction list. 1. Ban list once a year rotation is not gonna balance the meta well with the current card pool being at OP08. (with dragonball emergency ban list incoming Jun 20th and digimon 3-4 times restriction list per year) 2. What's the point of calling Ban/Restriction list if you never restrict card to 1? just call OP BAN LIST every year becoz we nv restrict card. LMAO 3. OP R&D Dept. need to buckle up/step up - where is ur professional play-tester for every pc of card u design. (sorry we forget to playtest maria or we nv playtest maria) LMAO. 4. Bandai never banned RG Law despite admitting he's restricting green cards design for them, because the character is popular bandai don't like to touch him. I think same will be the case with RP Law, he won't be banned because a lot people love playing the lead and love the character (a bit irrelevant but I also noticed he lures more girls into playing optcg haha). I think not letting Law play Black Maria should be enough for now, then we should wait and see what OP-09 brings to the table. If you look at Lucci for example he also became a power house in OP08 by absorbing the cards that technically weren't designed for him: Who is Who, Jack, the animal kingdom stuff meant for King. He is just slightly behind Law in terms of power, but definitely the next boogeyman deck if there is no RP Law. And Enel like a glutton dragon keeps hoarding all powerful yellow cards no matter what type they are. So it is not only the Law leader who commits those "crimes" haha. Bandai simply should play test better the cards with powerful effects. 8c Moria was a mistake and I'm ready to die on that hill, as long as the card exists black will never leave tier 1 and will be the color for everybody else to beat. 4:22 Nobody? Im conflicted I like that RP law became stronger but don’t like that he became so strong that ban conversations are being made. I’ve seen alot of people mentioning banning or restricting to many in the deck which In my opinion would just kill the deck and or set him back to the OP 05 RP Law which sucks. I think Id be ok if they hit Black Maria, as much as I like the card it is over tuned like Moria. I hope they don’t just nerf law into the ground alot of us love playing the deck even before it got this good. If they do make restrictions or bans they better deal with black too because that’ll be the next complaint.

Mere -3 cost? Going first that’s two turns before you can make a decent play. You don’t get that DON refreshed and if you don’t draw queen or kid your DON management becomes crucial. The reason law is able to make ridiculous plays is because of the consistency of having Gordon and max at four. I swear if someone makes an argument about other leaders using Gordon and Max therefore not making them the problem.. I will punch a grandma 👵

Restrictin Ennies Lobby to 1 is the most stupid suggestion ever. Respectfully. That would completely ruin OP07 Lucci because if he doesn't get Ennies Lobby early on, he can't really remove anything since he has to wait until his trash gets to 10 before using Tempest Kick. Limiting Moria to 1-2 most definitely but leave Ennies alone.

It took 3 sets for RP Law to actually get competitive (5, 6, & EB1). It’s not even at full power in the West and ppl are already calling for a ban. A Blue/Green Sanji format needs to be made for those people
