HI BEAUTIES, Welcome back to my channel :) Today I wanted to share a tour of my first year accommodation, Opal Court. Opal court is a university owned accommodation and I attend the University of Leicester to study law.
This video will give you a tour of the accommodation itself and it's facilities such as the common room and laundry room, the tour will also show what a standard flat and room looks like.
The room featured in this video is a single ensuite (single bed) the double ensuites (double bed) are bigger but have less floor space but everything else included in the room is the same as is featured in the video for a single ensuite.

HI BEAUTIES X I just wanna start by apologising for the video quality its not too clear and often blurry, I probably should've filmed with my vlogging camera. Also I talk really fast LOL, so apologies if it's hard to follow. Also, despite the state of my flat, Opal Court is not a bad place to live at. I personally just had a really shitty experience due to my flatmates but bad flatmates or neighbours can ruin the experience in any accommodation regardless of how nice the accom is. Also the video is HELLA LONG, but I just wanted to show you guys everything I could because I know before I went uni I was legit binge watching uni vids, especially room tours and couldn't find like any for Opal Court so I hope this helps x

Cupcake Diaries Hii, and yeah absolutely. You can get a studio room so you’re bathroom and kitchen is in one room or even a one bed apartment. You would have neighbours but wouldn’t directly interact with people unless u like know your neighbours or ppl in the accom. They would be privately owned accomodations whereas the one i stayed at was a uni owned one. Due to my experience I’m currently living in a studio cus I was soooo put off of sharing with other ppl 🤧😂

Omgggg you‘re a Godsend !! I haven’t seen such a helpful video on the reality of university. I plan on studying Law at UoLeicester this year and honestly this has helped me so much, thank you ❤️ Do you have any tips or advice to help me settle in? X

Laurissa Grant 🥺❤️❤️ thank you hun x And I would say just be yourself! Study hard but also find time to have fun etc. Make sure you pick a good accommodation too! Deffo has an impact on your experience, especially in first year when it comes to making friends etc 😚 sorry this is a bit vague 😭 but I hope it helps xx

I'm Lurking you’re welcomeee ☺️ and yhh oadby is very far but places like opal court and Nixon court are close. And there is always the option of private accom too x

yakuza4 Hii, I acc personally never met any 2nd years when I lived in opal. Howeverrr, like third years and second years sometimes live in opal to be closer to uni cus of the workload x

Hey b, what good accoms do you recommend in lei that are good for social life. I live in a village basically and I don’t want to go live in a dry accom😭 x

cee cee Hii Hun, for uni of lei I would reccommend like Opal Court or Nixon Court for first year. They’re close to uni and it’s mainly first years that live there. Oadby is actually good too if you’ve heard of it but it’s a little bit far from uni. A lot of people say it’s like mostly white people buttt because of that all that black people that live there end up being really close and meeting a lot of people so that’s the plus sideeee. But like only if that would be important to youuu. Cus I know a lot of black people go to uni and just feel more comfortable meeting other black people if you know what I meannnn. And if you go dmu for first year I would say probably Filbert or Liberty Park would be pretty gooddd. But tbh anywhere is good cus even if you’re accom isn’t too social you can meet people on your course or at like societies and that. Hope this helps hunnn x

cee cee Filbert and Liberty are for DMU but you could probably live there as a Uni of Lei student. But it’s good to check out private accoms too as they’re usually a lot nicer than uni owned accoms. Uni owned accoms are ones on the uni of lei website like Opal, but for first year it’s better to live in uni owned ones so you meet people in your year and at your uni toooo

sakinah Sasha Yhyh it’s really nice acc. It’s more ideal for a dmu student tho Cus it’s closer to their campus. If you go uni of lei the walk to uni from upperton is quite farrr. But as an accommodation it’s really niceee ☺️

HI GUYSSSS 🤪🤭 QUICK UPDATE !!! so Opal Court is acc being refurbished atm, however, as far as I am aware only one block has been refurbished so far and it just so happens to be the block I lived in which was the one I ofc featured in the video 😭😒. However, the rooms are still very much the same. The reception and common room have been refurbished so far and honestly looks really really good, very modern. I’ve also heard that the price of the rooms have increased 🤧 for all further info I would suggest looking on the university of lei website xxx

Hii, to the person who commented about the diff blocks, hopefully u see this! I was trying to reply but I accidentally removed your comment 🤦🏾‍♀️ so I lived in block A which is the block that has the reception which was refurbished. I’m not too sure if the rooms have been refurbished though as I only noticed the change from the outside of the building. Also block A is the smallest with only 7 floors from what I remember. But the blocks are basically all the same in terms of the rooms and layout x

BeautiByEsther and I would like to ask are u satisfied with this ensuite room? I’m wonder whether tis room is too small compare to the large one. Is it okay as overall ? Because I’m now thinking whether to choose large ensuite or small ensuite as the price difference is not big. Thank you😊

JCJC 9898 Hii, in as much as I was content with my single en-suite, I was always a bit jel when I went to my friends double rooms 😂🥺 but the size difference isn’t too dramatic in the sense that the double bed takes up most of the space in the room. So single bed = more floor space basically.
