I remember when I was 17 years old, in my hometown of Marosvásárhely, there was a black GSI Opel Kadet, a little Low.

Sure. In the late 80's Opel made the Kadett GSi 2lt 8v. called the BOSS Opel S.A. then improved on developing another model GSi 2lt 16v called the BIG BOSS. At that time on our pro series racing circuit called STANNIC GROUP N, BMW were supreme with the only 1 of it's kind, S.A built 325iS Evo 1 and was ruling driven by Deon van der Westhuisen. To challenge BMW, Opel developed the SUPER BOSS GSi 2lt 16v with SFI fuel intake system, Schrick twin cams, a specially developed LSD differential close ratio, and a couple other upgrades. In order to qualify for STANNIC GROUP N, the cars must be all production cars, nof more then 320 unuts. So to qualify, OPEL built 335 of these very rare models. Sold 320 to the public to qualify as production and public sales (use) and the other 15 were used for the racing circuit. Mike Briggs was Opel's lead driver and it became a very heated contest on win and lose between BMW 325is Vs. SUPER BOSS. Both cars shared the constructors and driver's championship titles yr in and out. There are very few of these models left today, which make them a collectors item. Those were some very fond years in S.A. touring cars racing history.❤❤❤

@@peterssss5396 Thanks for detailed clarification.So it was racing car sold only in South Africa and that's why I never heard of it.Used to own 3 GSi-s and one of them was equipped with racing head, cams, Power Chip and have eaten BMW-s for breakfast except M3 E30 ofcourse... ;-)
