Well actually no because statically it’s not possible at all, he lives in the UK and the biggest parcel company in the UK is Royal Mail. Last year their estimate earning was 12 billion GBP. So you're saying he keeps it alive is factually incorrect!

Love that you got sent Praiseworthy!!! Alexis Wright is one of my favourite Aboriginal authors, so it's very cool to see her work being recognised outside of Australia, hope you enjoy Jack!
that’s awesome you got sent praiseworthy!! i’d recommend at some point if you can to listen to it as an audiobook because alexis is an australian first nations author and a lot of her stories are so much more rewarding through an audio/oral tradition. amazing book regardless!!!!
I was literally just thinking this! And I want to see his review of Bridgerton S3 because I feel like he could articulate a lot of my feelings on it so much better
Alan Warner teaches at my university! I do almost all my reading via audiobook and none of his books are available in that format so I haven’t actually read his stuff - but can totally vouch for him as a guy, he’s awesome!
I just finished Unbranded by Herb Wharton and I’d definitely recommend it if you want to read more Australian books. It’s written about life in the outback following the life of 3 men, and also has a lot of good reflections about aboriginal culture and oppression. It’s written by an aboriginal author with who worked as a drover for many years and is based in his experiences. It’s so so good.
As a Catalan, I’m thrilled to see a Catalan author featured in this video! I aspire to be an author myself, and it’s incredibly reassuring to know that people are actually reading Catalan books.
hey jack! just wondering if you could possibly make a video (if you haven't already, in that case, my apologies) about how you became a book critic after getting your english literature degree. because i am getting into book selling studies to become a publisher but your path interests me as well, and so i was wondering how that happened for you since it looks like a bit of a niche, intricate world to get into. thank you in advance for your answer! also, i was wondering what you did with books you read and didn't like (james franco's or drake's poetry for example) or books you might want to get rid of so they don't take up space in your library, do you resell them on a particular app? keep them on a different stack or? anyway! been binge watching your content, you're living the dream! xo
I just read a book set in Scotland (though by an Australian author) - 'Feast' by Emily O'Grady, which was shortlisted for the Stella Prize (the prize Praiseworthy won!). I think you'd love it Jack. The characterisation was so masterful. Other recent Australian books I'd recommend: 'The Swift Dark Tide' by Katia Ariel, which is a lyrical exploration of a woman coming out as queer in middle age, and 'Body Friend' by Katherine Brabon, about autoimmunity.
Video idea- books on climate change? I don't normally do non-fiction (except when you recc) but I've been reading Humanity's Moment by Joelle Gergis and honestly some of the most moving writing I've ever read. Ur discussion of books often make them seem a lot less intimidating and you give rly good overviews of where to start with topics...I think ppl wld be into that for climate change?
Random question, have you ever read the book Wolfsong (the green creek novel series) by TJ Klune (which I know u have read at least one of his books before)? If not I totally recommend it! If yes, then please help me find the video I would love to know your thoughts!
Somehow I lose my ability to hear and understand when someone reads something out loud. Talking? No problem. Reading for myself? No problem. Somebody is reading something out loud? Don't know what's being said I'm sorry 😭😭 that's how bad my ability to concentrate has gotten.
could we do a buddy read with Wild Fire? That would be wild! ME little ol me doing a buddy read with Jack *sighs* that would be WILD (ok that was bad even for me)
really curious to know what you think of mammoth. i was a big fan of the other two in the trilogy, but i hated this one sm... (i read it in Catalan when it came out) i don't wanna share bad vibes, though... i do hope you like it!!
Jack Edwards-cissorhands 😬 For real if i don't have scissors or a knife i ask my dog to open the packages. Even he's starting to have trouble with that reinforced tape 🤣 but he really enjoys opening packages so why rob him of this joy?
Ok Jack, I'm gonna need to know your reading schedule or at least how many hours you read per day, because I'm a teacher off work for summer vacation and I am not getting through nearly enough books. I need a target, you know how like people would follow Blake Lively's diet and workout routine, I want the Jack Edwards Reading Routine please and thank you
