I came back to this after watching the latest iteration of this historic home on home worthy. I love this deco so much more than the current, overwhelming version that the present owners have created. What a shame.
It is heartbreaking to see what the current owners have done to this home, as of today, on Homeworthy. It’s a classic example of beautifully restored historic homes, falling into the wrong hands. They have absolutely ruined this home.
Wow! What a huge difference. It looked so badly run down in the film, but now thanks to the owners and decorators, it is so magnificently restored, and better than ever. You can appreciate the grounds and parts if the property you could never see before. It was grey now turned into sunshine. This was so great to see. Thanks! 👍👍☺️
Big Edie would of came back herself. She wouldn't send someone else. Are you kidding? If her ghost would of showed up, she probably would of said, "Get out of my house."
@@victorialawhon2251 , I had to try really hard not to do that. She just did it so many times in one short sentence! It's would have, would have and would HAVE, Miss Susieq. Christ on a cracker.
Fashion designer Liz Lange and her husband bought Grey Gardens in 2017. They spent lots of money and time on repairing the foundation and structure of the c. 1901 house, as well as bringing the inside back to life, so it will last a long time. It looks even better!❤
"Big edie picked you, because she knew you'd restore the house to its former glory" ..... yet it was neither "restored" nor even remotely resembling its former appearance. It was almost entirely gutted and remodeled. Glad the house was saved, but this isn't a "restoration", it's a renovation.
This restoration was perfect, maintaining the original casual elegance of the house and using much of the Beale's furniture and era appropriate colours and fabrics. The later renovation was ghastly and ripped the soul out of the house 😣
The host is weird. His overly enthusiastic and exaggeration of the SIMPLE explanation of the wicker chairs design and details🙄 Calm down sir, it’s just wicker🤨
This story sounds fishy. So this lady was house shopping in the Hamptons and couldn't find anything, and just happened on the grey gardens house? The documentary had been out and the house was famous. This sale didn't happen by chance and this woman didn't just stumble upon it.
Sooooo true. The way she stood in the intro! I almost clicked away when she was waving her arms around failing to be relatable. From the beales effortless charm to instant dislike for no reason. She says was chosen? The ironing is delicious.
Why can’t this lady just show us the house? The interviewer is doing everything he can just to keep a straight face. Show us the house and stop with the dramatics.
Like Sally Q or not , ( l’m in the latter group ) she did an amazing job decorating. The current owners have apparently done a good job shoring up the foundation and strengthening the house .
I think both Big Edie & Little Edie , especially, would be happy to see Grey Gardens, as it should’ve been.. P.S.. SALLY.. What do YOU do, for a living? Or who’s your family maam? I’m going to Google..💜 I can’t believe they had all that beautiful furniture, in the damn attic..
I LOVE that she/they used many items which originally belonged to the Beales!!! Everything so beautifully restored!! I hope the cats were humanely transferred....
That's not exactly what she said. And if you're at all familiar with the Beales, it is pretty clear that doing a twirl for accentuation is perfectly in keeping with little Edies personality!
I saw the original b&w movie, the TV version and they were pistols!!! Little edie was a talented young woman and she was much prettier than her cousin Jackie No...
