Like to have known why his body shape completely changed when he went to the Saints...he was sleek and extremely mobile at Carlton and then chose to become a he-man brick wall...wonder how much bulking up affected his knees
I'm a 50 year saint supporter, and Aaron Hamill remains one of my very very favorites. On field, he was a strong leader, and made all his team mates better players.
@M Good luck with that M! As soon an Aussie player has any serious talent they move to a higher league in Europe, or Asia, perpetually keeping Australia as a lowly feeder league. Soccer in Australia should grow in popularity, but it probably won't, for the same reason as Surfing is not popular in Nepal or Asia. Many, plobably most, soccer supporters in Australia care more about the UK and Euro leagues than the local league. The UK and Euro leagues are plagued with unfairness due to massive amounts of money involved, and so its the same 2 or 3 clubs who win each year. Boring Boring Boring. And then the game has is own issues, scoreless draws, 1-1 draws, etc, Diving and pretend injuries, just pathetic. I watched Greece play Australia live a few years back, and the Greeks were falling down in agony at the slightest touch. To the average Aussie its just ridiculous, and frankly emabarrasing. Then there is the local ethnic rivalry which is ongoing and has been part of soccer for the last 50 years. Then there is FIFA, a bunch of corrupt opportunists enriching themselves an the expense of the game. So good luck with becoming the #1 sport in Australia, there is a lot to fix first.
I remember when I heard Aaron was coming to the saints it was the greatest of news,he was a champion. Grant Thomas was one of the best coaches we've ever had and should have been there a lot longer.
