I'm needing an MRI for my head and I tell you what!!! No way! This open one still looks impossible for me. Only way they are getting me in a tiny tube is to IV sedate me! I don't want to know nothing!!!!! For me it's not claustrophobia, it's something different called Cleithrophobia. Feeling trapped. I can feel trapped in a car in traffic, in a dentist chair, getting my hair done... whenever they say "ok sit still here now" I'm done!!!!
They have one now where you can sit down, it's called an open upright MRI...the sides are very close so it still looks daunting but there is nothing in front of you so technically you can just get up and walk away. It's finding a facility that has one near you that's the issue. That's what I would need. No way I'm getting in the tube or that easy-bake oven in this video. Their faces are like 1 inch from the top, I'll go insane.
Oh my God, this is what I also have.. and I was thinking this is some kind of anxiety. Thanks for this term.. I get shivers when I go to the barber nowadays. Takes a lot of effort to suppress this 😭😭

I'm having a open MRI in a few hours. Don't know if my machine will be like this one but the thought of lying still in this machine for 30 minutes is making me wanna run away like a doc from the vet!!! Help me, Lord Jesus.

I did an MRI few days ago and it was an open one and I still was so so sooo nervous I went inside and they have to take me out twice but I was done with it for the second time thanks God Lol
We need a machine that is really “opened” and most importantly lightning speed. Like 10 mins max for the whole body and 1-5 mins for specific area. Can someone invent it pls. Apple company pls.
I think the Up & Open Imaging is just the best ever. Literally sitting up in a chair & watching TV til I forgot I was even in MRI. I'm just not gonna torture myself with these other machines.
I liked this machine a LOT better than the iron lung tube. Yeah, it’s covering above your face, but there’s plenty of room to breathe, and you can see everything around you out the open sides. It’s also not as loud!
Once you're in it it doesn't feel any different than a conventional MRI you're still going to get that claustrophobic feeling with that machine about an inch two or two from your face.
Yes omg finally someone said it bra I had it a FREAKED THE FUC@ out omg I started sweating screaming crying I couldn’t do it it was soooooo close to my face omgggg I’m gonna try it again cause I really have to but I’m so scared I go tomorrow I don’t think I can do it.
nah i didn't.. plus i kept my eyes closed for the whole time cause i thought if i open them it's going to affect the result.. the experience is much better than the closed one, but the result isn't accurate like the closed
Yea, today I tried the open MRI on my lumbar. As soon as she put me inside just a little (I also had a towel over my eyes) I started to freak out! “I can’t do it! Get me out of here!” I could sense the roof being too close to my face and my claustrophobia kicked in! Ugh 😩
I wanted to see someone in this video having they're lumbar spine imaged. They showed the coils going over the shoulder an wrist. The child had a very small halo looking coil over her head. I am having a test of my spine like many folks and wanted to see what the coil looked like. They are trying the manufacturers , as it relates to claustrophobic patients.
My husband meeds this one cause he has tried to do it 3 times so maybe this time if we can find one near us it will finally be done...he is very claustrophobic
Blindfold and ear plugs worked tremendously for me. It sounds dumb but it really works along with taking calm breaths. Just remember they will give you a break if you need it but stay in the machine dont come out for a break or you will never go back inside.
