We're back babyyyyyyy! At first I seriously did not like this game because of the gen 2 mechanice but I grew to tolerate it over time, also the difficulty was pretty dissapointing considering I was blind and didn't even know what I was doing.

I had a feeling this wouldn't be as hard as like Pokemon Emerald Kaizo since I didn't see the word Kaizo, meaning frustrating if I'm not mistaken, and I was right. Very nice hack. Excellent job beating this pokemon hack with advanced nuzlocke rules.

Imma be real, I am not looking forward in the slightest for Liquid Crystal. I really didn't enjoy that rom hack, it's kinda messy in the way it's an hybrid of a remake of a crystal, yet, it has some original concepts implemented to shed some light on some gen 3 pokes. It felt a bit wrong to me, to say the least... at the same time, the game's map is extremely clunky... I never agonized so much surf exploration in any pokemon game as I did in Liquid Crystal, it's just pitifully awful to explore all the surfable zones in the game (especially when you are a completionist like me). You don't even have access to Ultra balls to catch Suicune, jeez. And the griding is extremely difficult with such bad exp random encounters. Couldn't botter to finnish the Kanto post-game. Pales in comparison to the marvelous Crystal Clear

Can't say I agree with much in the last couple minutes of this vid, but I can agree that gen 1 and 2 are very dated, but gen 2 is charming. I consider this game to be the best rom hack I've ever played, and I really really like it. Plus, I think HG/SS is being redone like this too.

For these easier Rom hacks you should add a rule called "Teamlocked". In which the original 6 Pokemon you have aren't allowed to be switched out from the party until they die or win the game. It will help allow for more of a challenge, and will teach you to use mons that you wouldn't expect.

I agree with gen 1 and 2 being dated but for me it's not the graphics (I find them quite charming) what I don't like about these gens is the UIs. like seriously, thank God gen 3 finally let us see the power and effects of moves and let us see what the inside of the pc actually looks like

You should have a "YOU DEFEATED" screen after beating a challenge like you have a "YOU DIED" if you lose. And wow, this was something. ngl I really like Gen 2 even in spite of its flaws. The more simple gameplay makes it more fun to replay just knowing that natures don't exist and the movepools for individual Pokémon in general only started getting good in Gen 4. So I actually unironically prefer Gen 2 over 3. Especially when the Hoenn games act so much like a breeding ground for hax.

A great hack I only recently learned of is Dark Violet, an expansion on the Kanto region. I’m not a big Kanto fan (so edgy I know) but this one took place over Drayano’s version of Firered for me. Could be a fun one for you, it’s moooostly fair, and the difficulty curve isn’t too steep. I certainly did not have a clean nuzlocke run but I did beat the Elite 4. 🤣

Dude, play Pokemon Gaia. It's by far the best rom hack out there, quality-wise. Challenging without being absurd,with an interesting story, MASSIVE variety of pokemon (I'm doing a catch 'em all, I've got over 60 before eevn getting to the second gym), mega evolution that works perfectly, physical/special split, up to (I think) gen 6 in pokemon... To my eyes, this is how the gen 3 games should have been made.

Level Cap for EVERY Gym / Added NPC IN THE GAME, and you may only catch Not Fully Evolved Pokémon (but you can evolve), and lastly, KINGDRA CLAUSED because you did that in Fire Red Omega but with Gyarados.

Have you considered trying pc fangames ? Like insurgence or my personal favorite in the hard genre : Reborn. You'll love it. Mind Crystal natively force any nuzlocke to go extreme, i wasn't able to finish it in a nuzlocke, neither did one of thé most famous french pokémon youtuber, maybe you'll be the chosen one. You should try it instead of Liquid Crystal, if you manage to run DS romhacks Much love from France, allez la bise

Most of your criticisms are caused by user error

Ok so when you were griping about Crystal's music, the song you used sounded really messy for some reason. Maybe its the emulator you use? Also don't mess with gen 2's ost that shit is banger

Play blaze black or blaze black 2, it has gen 5 exp mechanic. Make you harder to grinding and it have hard mode!

So the music stuttering music is caused by the emulator, not the game. On cart, the music is just fine.

I started this after seeing pikaspreys video a while back, i got up to the cave before violet city with dunsparce in it. I was speed grinding in this cave at the speed of cheating when suddenly i ran into a shiny zubat. I was so upset that i wasted shiny luck on a mon i coudnt transfer, so i put the game down and have not played since. I really should get back on it, what an ambitious and good hack

This is hands down one of the best and most creative rom hacks given what it had to work with. Shows how much more could have been done with these games and this game in particular makes gen 2 feel like an absolute skeleton of a game.

Whenever I play this game I always have always run on because the pokemon don't scale to badge count.
