I was amazed to hear how much it memorized about me. I asked it to roast me. I was about to send a screenshot of a negotiation I was needing help to do on marketplace and before I could send it a screenshot of my negotiation on marketplace it started just roasting me in general using everything it knew about me
As paying users of ChatGPT, we should unite and protest against the many unnecessary restrictions placed on the advanced voice features. @@svicpodcast *bard* also depends on what part, Google got first access to your entire phone. One day (I'm on a Samsung) I pulled up my Google assistant which auto swapped to Gemini and automatically knew my name from my Google account, my phone number, contacts, location, work, all pins on my map, associated pins on my map with contacts, all without asking me for permission for any of this. I assume for legal reasons they did and just hid it somewhere and I accepted it at some other time but it was very uncomfortable
Hadn't realized it was finally released, until this vid popped up. So yea, I like it so far. As far as the setting thing goes, I can see that having a distinct settings panel is probably a good idea for now, as things change so much, and also a bit safer, so setting don't get accidentally changed while yapping. I'm sure at some point such things will be voice accessible. Always interesting who the models are or aren't "self aware", like how the voice modes don't know what voice they're currently using. Be better if they did, and if that setting could be changed from within a conversation.

I think where this technology would be good is for people that move to a new country and want to learn the language. It would actually make for a good app. Its one thing to just learn the language but to also be able to maybe find ways to integrate people faster by teaching them about the area they are moving to along with maybe some more social and cultural norms. Obviously if someone made that app there would be a group of people that would call them racist though

What’s do you think the integrating plan is ? Do you think the partnership with Apple and the integration in iOS 18 will allow them to bring in the voice mode straight to the iPhone? Or do you think they will have to build their own phone like device? Ai pin ? They are rumor to be working on hardware the the former Apple chief designer !

OpenAI would love to have its own hardware device because then it isn't bitched around by hardware providers such as Google, Apple, and others. If you control the entire tech stack the only entity that can get in your way is the government. Do what they can to copy what OpenAI is doing while risking OpenAI taking the market, or negotiate a plan with OpenAI to pipe it in now at the risk of OpenAI getting more of your users data. It's a delicate dance!
