Same here. I actually remember how I first discovered filler was a thing. I had discovered the manga and began reading it. So I read the issue that happens right after the SS arc, saw arrancarized grand fisher and thought how cool it was gonna look in anime. Then I go home, watch bleach cause at the time adult swim was just finishing the soul society arc in its run at the time and I never got to see past it(I think it may have been bleachs first run too but i can't remember) so I tune it excited for the grand fisher aaaaand....it's the bounts. I got confused. Kept watching. Still all this bount stuff. I started thinking I missed a few issues so I started looking online. Finally a friend filled me in on what filler was and it's purpose. I was a little upset but decided that hey I get more interactions from my favorite anime so hey, who am I to judge?

Yes. I literally watched all the fillers of bleach because I simply thought that they were part of the story.

White isn’t a Zanpakuto , he is Ichigos instinct / hollow form , Zangetsu is his Zanpakuto

well in TYBW several things in this arc are shown mostly designs since Kubo designed all the zanpakuto spirits

It was always supposed to be canon. Kubo WANTED to do it but never found a place to do so. That's why so much of this becomes canon. Kyoraku's Zanpaktou spirit does have a canon appearance. Zangetsu's truth is hinted at heavily. Sode No Shirayuki heavily resembles Rukia's Bankai. Kazeshini shows up in CFYOW.
