Gav and Dan try to stay upright in an 80 mph wind tunnel. The location is usually used for aerodynamic testing but the Slow Mo Guys have other things in mind.
Well, they did a video where they electrocuted a housefly which was eventually taken down. It sounds dumb but it can be considered animal abuse and was quite graphic. But there was no serious outcry or cancellation as far as I know.
RU-vid know that advertisers don't actually care about stuff like this, they'd just rather not risk it. Since this is a YT Original series they actually go to the effort.
Destin you know about high speed cameras, perhaps you’ll know the answer to this I’ve wondered for years: most of the Phantom cameras you’ve used recently (V2512, V2640) have pixel throughputs of circa 10^10pix/s (frame width x height x rate). You can lower the res to get a higher rate, but it usually comes out around that figure. Modern consumer cameras and even smartphones have throughputs about 20 times less than that (think 4K60p). Applying the same rule of thumb, a consumer camera should be able to record 640x480 at 1600fps! So why can’t they!?
Samsung's newest smartphones actually can record at about 1000 fps. To answer your question though, the reason smartphones can't record any faster than that is they simply can't get enough light. The exposure time of each frame decreases as you increase the frames you record per unit of time, so the tiny lens/sensor on a smartphone camera just can't take in enough light to record at super high frame rates without the image becoming far too dark. Slo Mo Guys actually have an awesome video on their second channel that explains this really well, you should go watch it!
@@guilhermeshiba3135 no the band at the bottom is to tight you might be able to get your arm through it but how long can you keep comfortable like that
occasionally, although really rare because condoms are very strong they can break, but again it's very unlikely, so my existence is supposed to be very unlikely :/
@@gav6189 Most hearing protection conforms to the ear canal providing a tight seal. They really should have worn hearing protection because not only did they need to scream at each other to hear them, but electric wind tunnels reach 107 decibels. That causes permanent hearing loss and Boeing high pitched ringing in the ears if they were in there for more than 3.75 minutes. They certainly weren't protected from the harmful decibel levels. Now that's depressing.
Right?? I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this. Imagine being swept off your feet and unable to stop yourself from rolling into those things at 80mph.... no thanks!
Glad to see that they wore protection in the tunnel otherwise who knows what mess might of happened during a strong blow? (I am talking about the tethers on their waist of course...)
The operator accidentally slips and turns the wind to the max of 500. Both get thrown back, one hits the back of the wind tunnel and explodes like a water balloon hitting the ground. The other flies sideways hitting the wind panel and gets his head cut off and hits the back and explodes, along with his head...
