When do I post?
I post every Saturday at 11:00am ET (8:00am PT, 9:00am MT, 10:00am CT) and if for some reason I'm not able to post at that exact time or day for a particular week, I'll make sure to let you know ahead of time on my Community Tab or Stories. To address some of the comments, I was not aware how may of these dolls were mislabeled by the seller and apparently most are not as “vintage” as I might have thought based on the years. This was an honest mistake and my fault for not researching better. I definitely was a bit suspicious with some of the names and dates, so I’m not super surprised. Regardless of most of the dolls being mislabeled, I still hope you enjoyed watching, I know I had a very fun time unboxing these :)

@DelightfulDolls yes, I noticed that especially the moving and motion barbie I have a few of those dolls. And sorry to say they are nor vintage or even that old some are from the 80,s though! And, I did think you may have a vintage, malibu, Barbie! Which if she is a original? She is from! The seventies! If nothing else you have a few! to restore! And repaint! Lol. Which that will keep you busy for awhile. I never, seen clothes like that maybe, fashion dolls, and not barbies!

Oh yeah, right off the bat I see a few are mislabeled, but that's the fun of buying vintage, especially in bulk. You never know! Edit: wow, they're almost all mislabeled, I wonder why the seller did that. I had "Best Man Ted" when I was a kid and he's definitely one of the New Kids On The Block (Jordan, I think?)

One tip: Often Barbies are labeled 1966 (not another year) when they are not that old. You see, some Barbies have a code nr. 1966 on the back, which doesn't stand for a year. The Barbies with that code nr on the back were mostly from the '90s and '00s, I think.

1966 is a year when a body mold was created. So it is a year but it's not a year the Barbie is from. Jut that style of body :)

Great video! The Barbie's marked 1966, are not actually from that year. Many people think that. They have the 1966 TNT body. That's tge year that body was created. It had the snap knees and the twist waist. Mattel used to put the date of the body, on the butt and then,inside the rim of the head, they put the date of the face mold. I don't know if they still do that with the newer Fashionists Barbies. The Ken with the flocked hair, looks like a clone for me. Maybe from the late 70's or the early to mid eighties. I'm really just guessing on that time frame. What a really super nice gift you received from your grandmother. The doll marked Roller Derby, her face looks like a Malibu Barbie that came in a light blue swimsuit,but I'm not sure. Maybe someone curled her hair. Again not sure. A really fun & generous gift. You always have fun videos!!

Pretty sure none of these are actually vintage. All are from early 2000s. The ones that say from 1999 are just when that body type was produced

If your gran got those from a flea market or antique mall, it's understandable that the one doll labeled 1966 is mislabeled. The body mold was trademarked in 66 and is commonly referred to as the twist and turn body. This body mold was kept in production until mid to late 90s. All vintage Barbie collectors know this, but most re salers do not. There is always someone at a random flea market claiming they have 1966 dolls. They almost always have crusty old dolls from the 80s.😢 Edit - more than one doll mislabeled 1966.

@@joannlee7239 You are totally correct. Too many re'sellers never research Barbie, they see the copyright for the body, the year it was made, and think the doll is from then. I have daughters, all three born after 1990, and several of their dolls, bought new, said 1966, but not the year I bought them. I had the original dolls from the 1966, they do not have the smiling face, it is from 1977. I do like you 'channel', and enjoy your presentations.

"Indigenous Queen" Looks like a 1990's Christie or similar. The "Pharmacist" barbie is in a vet Barbie outfit from the early 90's (I had her). I think the seller really got creative here. I Best Man is a Jordan Knight New Kids on the Block doll.

My grandmother had one of those older barbies in a crochet outfit as well. For some reason it stood in her bathroom and had a roll of toiletpaper to hold the skirt and the doll standing. It was adorable tho! Have seen a few patterns of those dresses and hats online, but it was a while ago now.

Most are modern dolls in vintage clothing. 1966 and 1999 is the year the body mold was made. Face molds are marked on the back of the head, but it's the year the mold was made, not the doll. The oldest Barbie there is from the 1970s the one in the roller clothing. The Ken in the purple jacket might be a New kid's on the block doll. Most of those dolls are from the 2000s. Nice find grandma 😊

Barbie's twist and turn body was patented in 1966. Dolls retained that date on their backside for many, many years, but it does not indicate the year the dolls were made. True Vintage dolls are pre-1973 and almost all were made in Japan. That said, I think you are endlessly fun, Ava! I love watching your stuff. Never stop.

Fun finds from grandma 😃! Unfortunately they gave her wrong info on the dates of the dolls & who they are and she was overcharged too 😔 A lot of those dolls are modern & look the OG Fashionistas 🤔 The white long coat belongs to a Hannah Montana doll which my daughter had as a child & I still have it 👍 I believe the roller skates are from LOL babies 🤔 The blonde Ken is a modern dude, I have him too 😍 The AA Christie is not from 1966 since the 1st black doll came out in 1988 😆 That was very kind of your grandma to send you such a great box of dolls 😎 My faves are your 2or 3 Teresa dolls with the green eyes 🤓 #ddsquad

Agree to all, but there were black Barbie dolls before 1988. The first was in 1967 and her name was Francie, friend of Barbie. The first black Barbie, actually named Barbie, came out in 1980.

Thanks for sharing your haul from grandma. What a generous gift from her. I wont reiteriate all of what others have said about the dolls not actually being what they were labeled as, but I am wondering if you might do a follow-up video letting your viewers know that they were labled incorrectly? It might be kind of fun to ask your viewers if they know what the actual dolls are so that those who know can share their knowledge and we can all learn. I just hate to have people see this and get the wrong idea about the dolls. In any event, I hope you have fun making these over and I look forward to seeing your videos when you do! ❤

Unfortunately, pretty much every doll has been mislabeled on both their year and which doll they are. Only about one or two of these dolls actually qualify as vintage- the rest being from the 1990s and forwards. Even worse, they’re almost all wayyyy overpriced 😩

13:00 That doll is definitely not from 1966 because I had not one, not two, but THREE of those exact same Barbies growing up! (Me and my 2 sisters each got one for Christmas). I think she’s a Sleeping Beauty doll from around 1999. We used those blue dresses as all our bridesmaids dresses because we had 3 of them! 😂

That’s so fun & very thoughtful that your grandma sent you a box of Barbies! The dates are misleading, there aren’t any dolls from the 60s, but I did notice you have a 70’s Malibu Barbie 😍. 1966 is not the production year of the doll but the year the body was patented. The Shani face debuted in 1991. The Superstar face in 1977 but none of your dolls are from that era. The classic 50s and 60s Barbie faces look completely different. Your dolls are from the 90s/2000s.

Hi ava I have a hack for you can use real life watches as barbie doll clocks you can take the bands of and stick it with hot glue I have done this multiple times and it worked out pretty good I hope if you ever try it out it works and also I love your videos so much can't wait for the next Emily and friends episode#ddsquad. The dates are probably what is labeled on their body. That‘s whenever the body molds were patented, not when the doll itself came out. Dolls from the 90s and 00s will be labeled 1966, 1968, 1989 etc… also the names on the notes are off. I guess that the seller came up with these names based on the clothes. From what I know about Mattel face molds, I think you mostly got dolls from ca 1997 to 2014. But there is a gem which looked like she came from the 60s or 70s because she used the Malibu Barbie face mold.
