🦊 So happy to see you talking about and going to the library. I see so many book hauls and book shopping videos on IG, TT, and YT; but I don’t think I’ve ever seen any of the other book tubers talk about or visit a library. It’s such a valuable resource, especially for those who can’t afford to constantly purchase new books. Little Free Libraries are also a fabulous resource where people can trade their books in for another. I’ve only seen one book tuber do videos including those. (Although, I admit I’ve never searched the topic.) Thank you so much for your time and effort putting out quality content. Your sweet and genuine personality and your helpful book reviews are a gift to your viewers.

Loved this video! ☀️🐶😊I use the Libby app for audiobooks all the time and also just got my boyfriend to get a library card, too! I read Open Water earlier this year and thought it was so unique and beautifully written. I am trying to read more translated works this year so I now have Lonely Castle in the Mirror on my list! Also Ocean Vuong’s memoir is amazing (On Earth we’re briefly gorgeous) and I am now looking to read his poetry, too.❤

I have been in a reading slump voor weeks. Normally I get out of it by myself, I am always dedicated enough to find something I want to read and I am in the mood for. But I have been really struggling with motivation the past couple of weeks. It is so bad. Because of you I really want to read "lonely castle in the mirror" the fact I want to read a book is huge, so thank you for your content!

@@alexandraroselyn the weather is getting a lot better in the Netherlands. I don't know I have really been struggling, not just with reading. This was supposed to be my last year, I already did an extra year in my study, but I am not going to make the deadlines this year. I also have no idea what I want to do with my life which is even harder, because I have nothing to really feel motivated for and work towards.

I also prefer making my own coffee at home. I have a fancy Keurig and a French press and oodles of different coffees. I have been making coffee milkshakes. 3 generous scoops of Blue Bunny vanilla bean ice cream;1 cup of brewed coffee, either room temp or iced; just a bit of Hershey Dark Chocolate syrup; and just a bit of your favorite syrup. I use Irish Cream from Torani (found at Walmart). Mix it all up in your blender and enjoy! Makes a full thermos full. 🐢

How on earth did you get through your MLIS without going to your local public library? While I was getting my MLIS, I had to visit practically every library around including several public libraries, academic libraries, museum libraries, public school libraries. I had to do significant research at each. Girl, they had us running around like crazy. It was a wild 2.5 years.

Oh! I cut this out of the video bc I felt like it was boring but basically Chattanooga has 5 branches and then about 15 minutes on multiple sides there are separate county libraries so in my area alone are like…hmm…8? libraries. I just went to one of the other ones not attached to that system! If that makes sense!! But I wanted to try getting library cards at all of them this year.

i'm surprised you didn't have a library card before this! i got mine at the end of 2020 and i have read so so much! i can't stop telling everyone to get a library card XD also i love karen mcmanus' books! the only one i didn't like was one of us is next (sequel to one of us is lying) i felt it was an unnecessary sequel. i haven't read you'll be the death of me yet but im very excited for it

The Forget-Me-Not Summer: "This will definitely be on my summer TBR" LIAR! YOU DIDN'T READ IT! I finally got here, so now you have to read it. LOL Forget that it's not summer anymore. Just read it!! I'm taking the other 2 books in the series with me to read on the plane ride. Not reading both on the plane ride there, but possibly one on the ride there and the other on the way back, depending on whether I finish the 2nd book before arriving in Cali. Also, I've noticed that each time you have food in your videos, it's never super healthy food. You should really think about making healthy meals, healthy cookies, cakes, whatever you decide to make, but always good for you. Too many people eat too much junk food too often. LOL

I love how you talk about libraries 🥺 Im working on my Ph.D. and one of my research areas is “libraries as community centers,” because they’re such important community centers. I have been blown away by how much libraries do and the possibilities of those spaces. The library in my town does a lot of adult literacy work, emergency management and disaster services, and even hosts free calls to inmates so they can read to their children (usually those calls costs money). Libraries are so important and I’m so appreciative of your channel!

I love the Chattanooga downtown library! That particular one is incredible! It’s not just books now. We have a floor of local history where they do genealogy (ancestry is also free inside the library), there’s a music studio, a maker space on the 4th floor, etc. Also, if they didn’t tell you, your library card will also get you into hoopla and Libby for ebooks and audiobooks. 💜
