I love it too, it was fantastic for both - the stream and the people sitting there. Imagine looking live at the 2020 and it's nothing on the stage, just dancers in the background (maybe because of the pandemic they thought it will be without an audience at all). In 2017/18 at least they could see stuff on the screens.
It's crazy how a game with simple looking graphics ends up filling stadiums during tournaments. It looks like a game you'd find on mobile, but the visuals from music videos make it look really impressive (those are what peaked my interest to watch this)
@@pjguitar15 the music videos always make the game seem like it'll be a 3d style like Fortnite for example, but it ends up being a confusing top-down look at small figures like you'd see from a cheap phone app.
@@Sentoki83 sports and most games have better visuals when you watch people play them. Actual gameplay of LoL doesn't match the visuals shown in music videos.
Exactly. You would expect a visually entertaining game like Street Fighter to get this kind of attention. But a Street Fighter world championship tournament won't even fill out a quarter of that stadium. Even that would be a lot.
You are totally right, but to be fair, they had to do it while having a global pandemic :/ (also, most of the time they look weird but Akali in the beginning is beautiful, he movements are so smooth compared to the 2018 one)
@@woong_lyOneOf it was my final day (it was our final day) We were getting ready and there wasn’t a pixel on the screen (no pixel allowed on the screen) Riot walks in with a horrendous 3D model
Legend Never Die (2017 opening ceremony LOL) still number 1 for me.. 😍 the vibe of LOL looks like came out and shout out to the Dragon.. really really amazing and fire 😍 the crowd really out loud.. 💃
League for me is literally my youth. Playing since season 1 and watching any big events of it. Playing almost everyday after school and on the weekends, hanging out on Skype/Teamspeak/Discord with friends and random people you met in League. I met my closet friends threw League. We met in a game and after a few weeks of playing we realized we live just one city from each other. I hope League never dies.
2015 was singlehandedly the biggest turnaround in league history. rewatching every single opening ceremony has me emotional because ive been here since the start of my league addiction in 2014
I know 2020 was a rough year but I want a redo, I used to follow Jeremy McKinnon when ADTR first started touring and he has such a stage presence he deserved a redo!! Just what LoL needs
Damn I miss Dash. I remember when he first started I was very iffy on him. But he improved so fast. The broadcast in NA just isn't the same without him.
Why do I not remember 2019??? huh??? o-o Edit: I remember, the music wasn't as hyped for me as compared to Rise and Ignite lol Opening ceremony is great tho
legends never die é uma musica maravilhosa e infelizmente a cantora nao deu uma perfomance (em 2017) a altura da versao de estudio :( a voz dela desafinou e falhou varias vezes
2014 - iconic, legendary, godlike! 2015 - tolerable song, but overall shit. 2016 - literally shit. 2017 - is awful copy of 2014. 2018 - not very good live k/da and disgustingly bad other creatures. 2019 - pretty good. 2020 - no comment
Consider in a big stadium sound takes time to travel plus speakers, and there is often a delay between them. This is why inner ears are often used. I don’t know the performance so not commenting on lip syncing.
I was rewatching this and couldn't for the life of me remember how 2018 ceremony was like, then that dude started singing Rise and I remembered why I blocked it out of my mind... Edit: Yeah I'm not talking abt the song itself, i love Rise it's one of my favorites but the guy singing it sounded like a dying whale idk
2019 HAS to be the best one. So much effort put in everything, the projections were stunning and all singers and performers did great. Very sad that imo 2020 didn't live up to the standards due to covid, but I hope in future years it will be just as great. I def recommend watching the behind the scenes of 2019's ceremony, I loved hearing about the planning and all the work everyone put in, it should def get more appreciation ^^
@@bamezu7165 It's just True Damage, there's still Phoenix and Awaken, regardless I'd say it's pop music with rap segments lol Ure just saying "buuh music bad it suk bleeeh", refusing to appreciate the good parts and listen to people's opinions. l take from you
