Fully agree. Infact apart from the AR parts everything else is actually pretty well done to great. Shame they even attempted the AR bits tbh; should have known their limits due to the pandemic. If you cut the KDA part out entirely this wouldn't be meme'ed on anywhere near as hard.
I love that, in a massive openings ceramony. With incredible dance performances and more. For a game no less, when it might has well be compared to the Olympic games. That is what you focus on.
@@RUNNEARS in case you didn't know... we are in the middle of a global pandemic and almost every country in the world still has restrictions to leave freely. Try to do this by your own in your house with your equipment...
You know all things considered the fact that they did all of this during covid and all the restrictions they must of had to deal with this was pretty impressive.
True I don’t get all the hate from people when you can clearly see all the effort they placed on this despite the hindrances of the pandemic. I cant stand all this negativity from others smh . Still really impressive stuff!
Also AR is INSANLY dependent on environment, 3D in general is hard, 3D that needs to be tested with lighting setups that so they can recreate them. Materials that will react too the environment the fact these models did not just start flying all around the room is a testament too how absolutely talented an amazing this was. I cant describe how without them being able to do a bunch of test... as a 3D character artist i have 0 clue how they pulled this off, like legit 0 clue.
Evelynn's graphic quality is like my only last living brain cell during Math exam while the rest are like my dead brain cells after reading the 1st question.
I’m just putting out my opinion. Imo Akali, Evelynn, and Seraphine were pretty well done. Akali’s motorcycle scene was pretty amazing as well. Ahri has a totally different opinion from me
I remembered being disappointed watching this for the first time and I'm looking back now and I realize that it wasn't as bad as I thought it was. Now, I think it's pretty good for what they had. Hopefully, I'll try to be more positive in the next run through if they seem to not be at their best!
I really like the very beginning of the countdown because it was so suspenseful and gave me chills, get hyped for the finals, you know. Everything after that went downhills.
I think they had the most technical problems with Seraphine then everyone’s animation just slowly lost its quality at the end. Though I appreciate all the people that put effort into it despite the pandemic going on.
I feel so bad for Riot, you can tell they really wanted this to be huge but the virus got in the way and hindered their plans :( ultimately causing the quality to go down a bit
Honestly not bad but 2018 Ceremony with Pop Stars was much better. The models looked worse somehow here compared to 2018. Still for current circumstances it was decent.
I’m sure this wasn’t their initial plan due to the pandemic they prob had to change a lot of things in the middle of the year so can’t wait for the 2021 opening ceremony
Everything was sooo lazy. I'm sorry, but this type of production is the chance of a lifetime - to bring together such talented companies and not be able to deliver an equal or greater quality production to the previous year is shameful.
the biggest trick in making CGI look good is good lighting (that's why 4:36 looks miles better than 4:39). But considering none of the KDA girls project shadows and the lighting of the stage works in a way that the floor looks bright, therefore the lack of shadow is much more noticeable... it makes the performance unsalvageable
Its not botched. Its the lighting. Sfx stuff suffers from lighting and shadows work. In this case the lighting showed all the imperfections rather than hiding them. Same with the shadows work. Still impressive. The only way they probably could've fixed it is by having full performances ahead of time and tweaking the renderings with the lighting in mind..
@@ssdhem454 you Are aware that most things come out of China. I bet every single component of the device you are watching this video on was produced and build in China
@@gamm8939 yeah most things (based on low-mid tech) may come out of china but nothing would have come out of china even low-mid tech based products if foreign corporations from developed countries hadn't built factories in china.
@@vallhart I agree. The pandemic shouldn't be an excuse. The pre shows and AI tech at the other stages looked really good. Also the fact that it was dark on stage really makes the effect harder to do. They should have scraped it from the beginning on. Its sad that worlds 10 feel so flat...
I'm not mad because I know they did their best during a pandemic. Instead I'm happy because this had me dying of laughter during horrible times. Thx Rito
I honestly feel like they could've just omitted the ar models and just done straight choreography/clips from the bg in the background and that would've been fine 😭😭😭
Imagine buying an expensive ticket to see World Finals and get this opening Edit: I see a lot of people butthurted. It was a joke clearly, its obvious that Riot did their best during these hard times. But still the quality dropped like an ADC hp bar in comparison with previous years SADLY and nobody can negate that
A lot of events (bigger and smaller than this one) has been canceled. I am pretty sure if Riot (or the organization that organize these events) would have canceled this event people would get sad, but thanks that they continued only a couple of idiots get angry.
I think one of the problem was compared to the last models, that the lightning conditions were diffrent this time and its hard to get the right light onto them, so they can fit better into the 3 dimensional space.. It was easier last time cause we had daylight and now it was very dark + smokey, so thats kinda hard to transfer on the models.. But I have no excuse for the models itself at some point. So Im not sure if we can blame covid for that or not.. so yeah happens :7
i don’t think riot had much control on how the models looks unfortunately, because i think they would’ve somewhat fine if they were able to be there and actually plan something
