Opening/Closing to The Indian in the Cupboard Australian DVD 

Originally, Paramount released "The Indian in the Cupboard" in North America and co-produced with Columbia for international territories. However, Columbia bought the Home Video and TV rights while Paramount at the time had the Pay TV rights for both HBO and Cinemax.

Paramount Pictures owns the USA theatrical and television rights of *The Indian in the Cupboard* while Columbia Pictures owns the US home video and rights of the movie.

This 2001 DVD was released in North America by Columbia TriStar Home Entertaiment[Columbia Pictures]. Diferences are in the opening of the film, In North America put the 1993 Columbia Pictures Industries logo and international the 1994 Paramount Pictures Corporation logo("A Paramount Picture") at the closing(of this DVD) in North America put the 1993 Columbia Pictures Industries closing logo and "A Columbia Picture" and the Sony Pictures DVD Center logo, while internattionally was the 1994 Paramount Pictures Corporation("A Paramount Picture") closing logo

Just like the Director's Edition DVD of Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979), Paramount's International DVD immediately begins the film.
