i was seriously impressed by keystone's opening day! stoke was high and we continue to feel better and better on the skis each day! day 4 in the books!
Your first day out sounded like East Coast skiing … ice 😅 However, this opening day extravaganza looked and sounded like pow pow ❄️❄️❄️❄️ Stoked ✔️ Bro ✌️
Impressed with your ability to crank out so much high quality content so fast. I love starting my mornings watching your recent videos, in eager anticipation of getting back on the mountain myself! Cheers, Lucas!
@@LucasCatania17 I’m in AZ and we’ve got two mountains we can go to. Which are great for AZ but def not this level so I’m so not used to these long runs. Looks like a blast
Totally enjoying your videos...thx for the good work. I am headed to Copper for Thanksgiving...been a while since I was skiing, so getting back to it...diving & sailboat racing in the tropics for quite a while...keep up the good work.
Keystone looks amazing, thanks for taking us along. Glad you are getting to ski already, the conditions look fantastic. Great video as always Lucas, can’t wait to see where you go next.
Bridger Bowl in Montana is predicting December 9th for opening date so if you happen to be in the area it would be worth it! Also I might skip school to go so it would be chill to see you there
that beats the day at a-basin by a freight train of canadian bacon. it's oh so sweet to not have sightlines obscured by a dreary drifty fog of opaqueness, or something...nice..!!
So great to see winter is almost here! Skiing the East we have about another month. Your vid’s are sick. This time of year is great, knowing skiing is just around the corner!
Lucas, have you ever had Egg’s Benedict? You need Canadian bacon, English muffins, a poached (or soft fried) egg(s) & Hollandaise sauce. You probably don’t want to fool with the sauce in the van, so maybe you could use Swiss or Provolone cheese to hold it together? It’s my fave breakfast!! It will fill you up for a great day on the Mountain!! ✅ out a recipe online, if you want? 👏🥰
Damn dude - quality is there for sure. love the time/effort you're taking not only on your vloggin/broll, but on the slopes as well. TRying to build up the courage to take my full-frame out vs jut a gopro or 360. New sub for sure!
I love Keystone for all the reasons you stated. Also I grew up in upstate NY. We had night skiing until 10pm. Love that Keystone does as well. Although I think they close earlier sadly. Used to be until 10 back in the 80s and 90s. but then they started closing earlier.....sad face. Night skiing is my fave!
Loved this vid, as usual!! It’s really exciting to see you out there so early in the szn!! My first ever ski trip was @ Keystone long ago, brings back such great memories of CO skiing before we bought in PC. Thanks for taking us along, you’re the best, Lucas!! I learn so much from you!! 👏⛷🥰
Nice, I am thinking on driving out, but I have a Bronco, I would have to upgrade to a van that I can sleep in as the bronco will not fit everything. I assume hotels are too expensive.
Awesome vid bro, glad Keystone wasn't that crowded or anything. Weather looked beautiful bro, can't wait to get back on the slopes here in UT!! I'm getting my new bindings installed today I'm stoked
Thanks Lucas. You are what I use for ski content while I sit in the Midwest and wait for snow. Im thinking about moving back to Utah just for the mountains lol
You mentioned looking for alternative recipes...I am a pretty good cook & baker...for a great meal...brown some ground beef or ground beef & pork...make some pasta...something like fusilli...pour warmed pasta sauce into the browned meat...when the pasta is done, put that into the meat & sauce...spectacular, with or without some parmesan/romano.........enjoy.
Hey man awesome vid! My family went to Keystone last year and it’s now going to be an annual ski trip! I also bought that same jacket and was wondering how it’s holding up and what all did you wear underneath? Thanks!
Was thinking about your ski situation. If you put the skis up above , when the are wet , they will drip on everything below vS building a platform that you can put them under.
Very true! I am going to try and create a catch/drain so the melt water is collected and then I can use it for dishes and other purposes. If that doesn’t work, I might have to rethink the design
Huge fan of the commentary style you did in your first run. If you can, it would be awesome if you could do that more often. I do understand that more challenge trails require more focus as well.
Hey bro, question. How is it possible to even get to Montezuma from Schoolmarm? Do you take Last Chance or Silverspoon? Those two short green runs are the only ones that lead to that lift. I'm just confused because those two appear closed on the trail status page of the Keystone Resort website.
Friday at Keystone was great actually saw you out filming (you got me on video 8:15ish lol). Criminally underrated mountain btw. I moved out here a few years ago and out of the epic mountains I prefer Keystone even over Brek and Vail. Be sure to get some videos later in the season there are some fantastic runs off the outback (hike) as well as a locals secret front side tree run that is legitimately the best resort trees I’ve ever skied. Let me know if you want more on where it is people get pissed if they see tips of it online 😂 keep killing it man!!
Keystone's opening experience is generally unmatched, at least here in state. Always a good base, and lots of room compared to A Basin. Usually, Wolf Creek opens Top to Bottom before anybody else, but it's shaping to be a bit more disappointing down here in the San Juans. Eyes on Telluride though 👀
More good stuff Lucas! Sometimes the i think we (the viewers) are "Not Worthy" of the vids you share with us! The quality and story telling are outstanding! Have you considered getting some used "Race Stock" skis for days you are on the groomers? A men's SuperG or even better a full DH ski are more fun than you can imagine!!! They are epic in a destination resort area (Whistler for me or closer Mission Ridge) where there are tons of long trails. The stability at high speed reminds me of being in my car on track. The confidence they inspire is incredible. It will add a new dimension to what you can do on the hill, and provide new challenges! You'll never regret owning a pair to keep in your quiver. From what you've said about Popa Joe, (I think he is a PSIA instructor) I bet he could get you set up with a reasonable priced year old "pre-owned" pair. As always I look forward to your next video! Best, Mo-
The least I can do is share our adventures and stories from all the support you guys give me. It’s what I love doing. I do have a “skinnier” pair of skis at 98mm underfoot. They are just 6 years old and pretty beat up at this point. I would entertain a smaller pair of skis to add to the kit for days like this but I really do enjoy the wider ski especially once we start skiing a bit more challenging terrain! Thanks, Morgan!
New to your channel, and I have to say, I’m blown away by your production value. I can tell how much time u take to plan your shots. I watch ur videos, and I constantly find myself asking, “how did he do that?”… I have a GoPro Max as well and u really get the most out of it. When u have it mounted to ur helmet, do u use 360 mode or hero mode? I’d love to know if you have ever done a video on how u go about putting a video like this together? Thanks 🙏
thank you - i really appreciate the recognition on the production value. i always use 360 mode with my max, regardless of where its mounted or how im using it. i havent put together a video on the process behind making my vlogs because most people are interested in the skiing, but i will definitely keep that in mind for the future!
I was at Keystone for Opening Day.. What time did you start skiing? I did 6 runs and was out of there by 11:15.. I would say the crowds got smaller after 10.. I think that is what time people had lunch.. Did you have donuts and HOT cocoa on the bottom of the hill by the gondola? I had that and wasn't in much of a rush.. There was still a line but I would say it was 8:45-9ish when I got on the Gondola..
Wow man what a great early season first run of the day. It just kept going and going and going! How many feet of vert was that ? This video got me super pumped, I do most of my skiing in Utah but I live in LA. I may even get out to one of the local mountains soon which look to be opening soon 😁. Looking forward to more content 💪
What setup do you use for your go pro? Like where do you mount it? Do you mount it on the side of your helmet, on top of it, or do you use the chesty thing
