Ride along with me as I dodge, dip, dive, duck, and dodge my way through the absolute chaos of opening day mayhem! Follow us on social media to keep up with the latest content! @JeffWalker84 #promotocross #motocross #KTM
A lot of people talk shit about us quad riders because we "can't ride" but that's not the case. A lot of quad guys are absolute goons but people like me (not to toot my own horn) and my buddies keep a decent pace. We're all out there to have fun
@@250r.Brandon I have nothing against anybody for "not keeping up" my only complaint is some of the quad riders were getting reckless and almost running into people.
@@HoneyBadgerRy quads should never be on the track at same time as anyone else. Not mention they should be running motos to brake it up. Cant have slow 65 kids getting slammed into by a crappy rider who thinks he needs a 450.
Glad you made it out of there in good shape jeff so stoked to see you puttin in motos! quads,50’s and pros on the track at the same time is a recipe for disaster.
Jeff, Thank you for posting the this video. My kid was the 65 rider that you pointed out. I showed this video to and explained what you were saying. But there is multiple factors to what led up to this. The big bike inside was pushing up. You went off the track to get around the slow riders. It definitely was a busy day a lot of rders out there for a middle of winter in Michigan outdoor practice. I went up and tried to get the practice split up . But so many riders went out there before they could say anything. My son was holding his own for most of the day for being a 65 rider. You know what I'm talking when some of the riders out there was treating this day like they were trying to qualify for the main at a pro race. They didn't care who or what was around them. My son and some of the small bike went to the smaller track to get awaay from all the stuff that was going on the big track. Even though we paid the same mount to get the same practice as everyone else. But I do really do appreciate what you pointed out. Because as a young rider he got to see what your talking about. You started as as a young rider also learning and became a great rider because of similar experience. Keep on doing what you do and be fast and safe. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment and kind words! For sure nobody is at fault here and I hope your little ripper didn’t take any offense or get frightened by it. Totally understand that it’s a tough situation to be in. I’ve been there! Hopefully they’ll have split classes next time Just wanted to use it as a learning experience for other viewers. It may save another kid from a less-fortunate outcome, in which case it was totally worth mentioning. Hope to see you guys again soon!
I don’t understand how it can be allowed to share track from 65-450cc. In Sweden we are by law required to split the 65-85cc from 125-450cc. And I really think it should be the norm everywhere.
Can't stand quads. They should not be on the track at the same time. Dude on a quad cut onto a part of a track that was closed off, cut back onto the track and took my stepdad out. Broke his collar bone. Quad never stopped and he never found him.
Yeah dude, where I'm from most tracks won't even allow quads anymore, Northwest Indiana area, (45 minutes from Redbud). Yeah dude I've had close calls with them, here they won't let bikes on track with quads at most tracks anymore. Like a few track still allows quads at practices. Most others banned them at practices, cause 2 or 3 will show up and you have way more bikes. At races they are in there own class but still screw up the lines, the track gets one lined as hell from quads power sliding. But yeah I 100% agree. Not fun riding with quads.
This is honestly so unsafe. With this many riders there they need to be splitting practice with a/b and c/d separately and of course little bikes need their own practice. 50 riders should never be on the track the same time as big bikes. I've seen a 50 rider get landed on by a 250f and break his femur.
Wow, what a treat of a vid! And your comment on the rider who didn't stick his line, well spoken. But again, your push, wow! You seem like a person who is well driven, a GOOD GOD Driven fellow. Either way, HalleluYAH!
JWalk... You're throttle control is like poetry in motion. Power down, no unnecessary wheelspin and always driving forward. That is like watching and listening to a trained musician...
Nice riding Jeff. You are clearly the fastest rider out there and you make good line decisions. I grew up in Belleville MI and raced 250 C Class in 1987 in the MRA and I raced two motos in Hillsdale MI at the old Horse Track and finished second in both 30 bike gate drops. After the racing program, Barry or his brother came on the P.A. and announced that riders could practice on the track at their discretion and that the ambulance was leaving the property. After a great day of racing, I went back out on the track and took it easy as I wanted to learn more about the track being that it was the first time I raced there. I made a stupid little mistake on a section I was flying on all day and was going so slow that that was probably the reason for my crash. Anyhow, I ended up OTB and completely totaled my left knee. It took three surgeons and almost six hours to rebuild my knee. Doctors told me to be off the bike for a year and I was out in my brace wheeling across my backyard in five months. I would go on to race a few more seasons before getting off the tracks.
Good note on the kid moving over! Just a learning expericne for him and other young/new riders. Glad nothing happened. I counted 45 passes of active riders on the track before the cut at 13:19, 5 more after that. Also, the 8:18 Insta wipe is much appreciated.
Always an awesome day when Jeff uploads. Keep at it man, you are an absolute beast on the bike. The new year will for sure be a great one. We love you bro.
ngl i really enjoyed this video! Not everyday do you see a pro ride a track on opening day where its packed loll i mean twitch does it and axle too but to see someone who races the pro nationals, out there with all those goons 😂 very satisfying to watch you past all those people lmfao
I came Sunday. So pumped to get back on the track but as soon as i pulled on the track the clutch blew out and had to just sit and watch. New clutch arriving today hopefully i can get more track time soon before area qualifiers start.
That 180 4 or 5 corners after the long straight & triple in front of the cars - the way you destroyed that was pure bliss. Way to play frogger out there and keeping everybody else out there safe even if they were in your way.
Always love the videos Jeff! When’s that Goggle Perspective video dropping!? It can seriously be game changer. Wishing you the best of luck and as always thank you for putting on content especially on your worse of days! 🙏
Good job man. Looks sketchy AF. But you got faster as the ride went on. Learning to anticipate, stay loose, sight passes far in advance and focus when things aren't perfect might be the best training you could do. The tracks you compete on are rough as hell after qualies and crazy chaotic at the best of times. If I were your coach, I'd look for more of these days.
I’m from Michigan and knew Moto Xtreme was going to be a complete packed disaster. It looked nice and all but 200+ riders and no splitting it up is insane. You made it look easy carving through everyone, I would’ve been laying in the mud if I tried!
Took me a season or two of racing to get used to the idea that once you pass a racer, the burden is on HIM to adapt to the fact that you have TAKEN his line away instead of me accommodating his intended line for another 50 feet. Just take it and run!!! LOL.
Dang this really shows how fast pros are. In the nationals look slow compared to the top guys but put a guy like Jeff at a local track and he's Ricky Carmichael. Keep up the work the vids are sick
Yo Jeff I counted 44 passes! As a quad rider as well, they should have a separate practice for the quads. That isn't safe especially with the little kids out there as well. Track looks sick though!!! Makes me wish we had nicer weather to go ride!
over here in the uk kids classes are ALWAYS ran seperate to youth open and adults to try and prevent anything like that happening, autos, 65s, 85s sw and bw all run together, And then youth open (125s and 250fs) run with adult A,B,C rolling 15 mins sessions on practice days ( autos can also be ran on a seperate track by themselves depending on the loacation and if they have their own track seperate from the main )
Man thats crazy all them different classes of bikes out together and quads also lol ,that just isn't happen here in Ireland, all practice tracks run 20min sessions in the same classes they would race.
That’s the only think that I don’t get in America it’s good you can go out for as long as you want whenever but that then brings everyone in like u got people on quads little kids of 50cc and 65’s going on with 450’s and not excluding other peoples skill level on a bike as u could send a fat triple not seeing the landing and there’s just kid on a 50 about to get landed on
insane to me that they just let everyone and their momma on the track at once. my local track does 30 min sessions in rotation all day for ride days. 85 and smaller, then big bikes, the quads if any.
Bro aren’t there any classes for certain skill levels? Here in the Netherlands we have beginners group, intermediate and then fast group. Much safer for everyone. Sketchy shit out there LOL! Awesome ride by the way
Idk if you reply but for tracks like this that are more fit for newer or weekend riders how do you actually like the tracks themselves? Do you find it boring or do you try to make every track you ride fun by riding them a certain way? I feel like it would be boring for you because they are built super small in terms of jump sizes and rhythm sections
Unpopular opinion: I first should state Jeff is clearly a ripper, no doubt in complete control of his bike but, A touch aggressive when around those real little guys. Gotta expect the unexpected with them. It would be real bad publicity if pro smacks a little guy on an open ride, even if they weren’t holding a line. Might scare them out of the sport or worse. All respect man, keep ripping
Definitley agree it would have been smart to tone it down a bit on some of the passes, but I think the track owner is really the one to blame here, having 50s, quads and pros on the track at the same time is insane.
This is not a hate comment, I love you content and watch most of it :) I know you did some videos ( honda days ) without clutch, seems like you are pulling that clutch a lot more now then before? :) maybe im wrong? Keep up the good work :D
big bikes, little bikes, quads, slow guys, fast guys. Never understood why all tracks dont run motos. No reason to have all that on the track at same time. Way too dangerous.
I can’t believe they let everyone on the track all at the same time that’s wild. Where I live you get a window of 15 minutes and your sectioned into pro clubman and kids so your not out there like this. You’re with your own level
