Hello Annie! Thank you very much for this amazing unwrapping video of our scrap bags. I knew you had done it because we’ve made some sales of scrap bags already! You are so inspiring and so appreciative and informative it’s just wonderful! The white on white print is block printed on fine cotton voile …they were originally sarongs that most people bought to make curtains with! The red canvas cotton, heavy stuff, with the little round motif is tie dyed, and yes, wash that separately, they are dyed in a mineral dye called alizarin. Our shows are in Kent and Sussex, well worth a visit! Perhaps you’ll need to get a driver - organise a coach party!?! Any time you’d like to come and help us make up scrap bags you are welcome - many hands make light work and all that - especially your nimble hands - although you may not be able to make them because you’d be so excited looking carefully at each scrap and marvelling at what you could transform them into! Lol! Lots of love to you. I look forward to seeing what you go on to make with these. Happy stitching to you and all your viewers, Jo x

Hello Jo! It's a pleasure to make these videos, these bags of gorgeousness speak for themselves really (although I do still seem to do a lot of talking for them eh?!) It's a shame I cocked up and managed to record my face instead of your facebook page so I had to cut that bit out, but it was probably too long already :) I found your FB diary posts absolutely fascinating and now I have more of an insight into what goes into procuring all these treasures for us, I will appreciate them even more. Thank you for the info about the fabrics I wasn't sure about. Interesting about the alizarin, I have alizarin crimson in various paints, it's one of my favourite colours. I would so love to come to one of the shows, I'm now wondering about the possibility of a little coach party, hmmmm .... and it would be amazing to help make up some scrap packs, though as you say I may be distracted by all the pretties :) Enjoy the rest of your trip Jo, and safe journey home xo

I'm soooooo impressed with Jo and the team for adding the sensitivity warning as a person who suffered that sensitivity from the rougue pack it's such brilliant customer service I love when I company takes on customer feedback Gorgeous scrap bags the colours are stunning really enjoyed your video xxx

Absolutely agree Jacquie - it was you, me and Granny Sue who had issues that time wasn't it? I always throw them in the wash now and I've never had a problem since. As you say, Bazaar took our feedback on board and now provide that advice slip, which is very sensible. I can't wait to see the new batch of scrap bags from Jo's current foraging trip :)

Hello Annie ! I love the fact that you are unwrapping the crap bags live . I too have fallen in love with these treasure troves of crafting opportunities !and I cannot wait for our summertime dose of Bazaar ! I am Pauline one of the owners (with my husband Paul) of Sussex Prairie Garden where Bazaar come every summer for their month long show in the countryside . If you loved the Stitch show offering of Bazaar in London (which you obviously do !) then you are going to really love it when Bazaar can spread out ALL its wonders in our garden ... I feel like I am in heaven every day when I wander around the marquees being transported to India at every step with all the clothes, wallhangings, snippets , braids , bangles , jewellery of every sparkling hue ... its India in Sussex ! hope to see you here in amongst the flowers and big grasses .. our very own piece of heaven

Hi Pauline, what a coincidence! I was just looking you up last night, wondering if I can find a way to get there for the summer event, I would so love everything about it! It's just so frustrating that I don't drive so I'd have to get there by public transport and I'd need to stay over, probably a couple of nights (I'm in Norfolk). I was looking at accommodation in Henfield, but it looks like too much of a walk from there. If you have any suggestions/advice re local accommodation or taxis, I would hugely appreciate it. The whole event and setting just looks like my kind of heaven! :)

hehe Jo left a comment saying I could go and play any time Sue and I'm sure I could bring a friend :) I've just been looking at their amazing summer event at the Sussex Prairie Gardens, wondering if I can work out a way to get there by public transport and find somewhere to stay over a couple of nights that's not too far to walk to the venue - it looks SO beautiful, I would LOVE to go. If only I lived down your way we could go together, I'd be more than happy to pay for tickets and share petrol if you were happy to drive, but me being in Norfolk makes it double-tricky. I should have learned to drive years ago :) xo

Thanks so much for this video. I don’t usually like watching unboxing/unpacking videos but seeing as you’re one of my favourite enthusiasts I knew it would be good. Sadly 😢 I have to wait to order because otherwise I might have to move house in order to find somewhere to put stuff seeing as I have sooo much already. 🙏 thank you again. ❤️ ♥️🙏🇬🇧🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇬🇧🙏♥️

You are so welcome Micki, thank you for watching and I know just how you feel with all the stuff we arty fartists like to accumulate - I've just had a clear-out recently, reorganised my space to reflect my changing interests, been determined not to buy more until I've used what I have, but in this case, it would have been rude not to ... :D

Hi, Annie! I’m a stitcher who receives many, many scraps of cotton fabrics from friends in my local quilting guild. I want to make things from these “rescued” scraps and leftovers. I’m thinking of trying your idea of quilt blocks with diagonal lines of the tiny strip scrap pieces. I am always on the watch for more things to stitch with scraps, so I’ll be excited to see what you come up with in future videos! Cheers from Lynn in Hallsville, Missouri USA

Hi Lynn, that's brilliant, I will be focusing on rescued fabrics and scraps quite a lot this year - do feel free to share any ideas/suggestions you have, I've started a list! :)

Thanks for showing your scrap packs Annie they all look great stuff. I would definitely wash red separate from everything else. I have experience with good quality red thread spreading into my fabric so wouldn’t trust washing with anything else. An alternative would be to put a couple of colour catches into the wash with them. Looking forward to seeing what you make with them💕
@artyfartyannie
@artyfartyannie 5 месяцев назад
Thanks for watching Liz - ah yes! i should have thought of putting a couple of colour catchers in anyway, just to be safe, I do have some but didn't think of it, I'll remember to mention that next time. Thanks Liz xo

Ooooh lovely, fingers crossed for you Lisa! It's probably too late as I'm behind answering my comments, but I'm sure you could always put a note in the note-to-seller bit at checkout and ask them to pick packs with more neutrals in for you, they're a small company with a very friendly and personal service so I'm sure they wouldn't mind :)

oh no! I'm so sorry, I thought they did - was this before or after you emailed them? (I can't tell which of your comments came first). I know they have posted to Australia and New Zealand as a couple of viewers have mentioned it. fingers crossed. If you find anywhere in the US that does a similar thing, please do let me know so I can share it with others :)
