On June 12, 2015 Garage Museum of Contemporary Art has opened its first permanent home in Moscow's Gorky Park. The former Vremena Goda (Seasons of the Year) restaurant, built in 1968 and reconstructed by OMA, opened in June with a range of exhibitions, performances, screenings, and events. These included interactive exhibitions by Yayoi Kusama and Rirkrit Tiravanija with Július Koller, and a site-specific installation by Katharina Grosse for Garage Pavilion, as well as the special projects George Kiesewalter: Insider, The Family Tree of Russian Contemporary Art, The Sixties: Points of Intersection, and Field Research: A Progress Report. Two monumental works created by Eric Bulatov as the inaugural Garage Atrium Commission welcomed visitors inside. Garage Museum of Contemporary Art is a place for people, art, and ideas to create history.
