“In the Philippines, we remain committed to fostering an environment that promotes collaboration and propels the momentum of our digital transformation,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reaffirmed as he underscored the government’s efforts in securing a brighter digital future through fostering an environment of a sustainable financial sector amidst the rapid growth of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) landscape worldwide.
The President made these remarks in his first-ever hologram speech during the 2023 Singapore FinTech Festival (SFF), where he highlighted the Philippines as a hub for digital innovation and entreprenuership with a dynamic startup scene that potentially holds immense promise for investors and partners.
“We invite you to look at these startups and explore potential partnerships to ensure our mutual growth and shared prosperity,” President Marcos Jr. conveyed, noting the growing presence of digital banking and the importance of inclusive finance in the country’s financial landscape.
He also emphasized the Administration’s efforts to promote digitalization among cash flows so that more Filipinos can build a digital profile regardless of amount or scale. He vowed to explore and adapt to new technologies to keep up with the demands of regional and global challenges.
“It is for this reason that we keep our FinTech ecosystem open to collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders, both domestically and internationally… The Philippines-with its innovative spirit and openness to collaboration-is eager to work with you in seizing all the opportunities that lie ahead,” the President said.
The Chief Executive joined leaders and experts in finance, technology and public policy from around the world in this year’s SFF, which gathered more than 500 exhibitors from 134 countries to discuss the latest trends, challenges and opportunities in the field of financial technology.
