The opening session of this year’s Summit set the context for the week’s events and for community wealth building in 2021. Following an an update from CLES's Chief Executive, Sarah Longlands, on most notable developments in community wealth building in the last 12 months, our keynote speaker, Tom Arthur MSP, discussed his role as Scottish Minister for Public Finance, Planning and Community Wealth.
This was followed by a panel debate where anchor sector leaders - Sarah Evans of the Wales Co-operative Centre, Alison McKenzie-Folan, Chief Executive of Wigan Council, Donna McLaughlin, Director of Social Value at the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and Sam Scharf from C&C Housing explored the question of how to develop local coalitions for community wealth building.
