By request of RoadRunnerCoyote17, this is the opening of the first release for Sword in the Stone. Sadly, this is only a happy accident that I have this still -- I donated the tape I originally had along with almost 30 other Disney tapes because they were taking up too much room in my home, and I only did a test capture of this to see if I could get this logo in 60fps. On the upside, I captured uncompressed so this is just about as lossless as you can get. On another downside though, because this was from a while back, the only recording I have of this is from my old VCR with no TBC or DNR, so this one doesn't look very good from the analog standpoint. Oh well, what can you do? If I find a different tape with this content (nearly all 80s Disney movies on VHS have this same opening), I will probably try to grab it again.
Anyway, the previews:
~ The dial tone (this is important! Can't forget it!)
~ FBI Warning
~ Red warning
~ Walt Disney Classics "cheesy diamond" logo

Anyone else notice that the 1984 Walt Disney Classics logo starts rather abruptly on this version of the master? "Alice in Wonderland" did something like that too, but it also ends abruptly as well, fading out before the music finishes. (Some printings of "The Sword in the Stone" did that too.)

The tape master might’ve been a rushed job.

That logo continually creeps me out. Not nearly as much now as it used to, but good grief. Moog synthesyndrome sure had its way here.

Your copy is actually a reprint from 1987; as the original 1986 VHS has the trailer for "The Journey of Natty Gann" inbetween the Warning screens and the 1984 Walt Disney Classics logo.

Ack, my bad. Like I said I don't have this tape anymore, so I was going by what Googling the history of Disney home video told me. I'll fix it when I get back to my computer in a little while.

Also, the earlier printings of the original 1986 Classics VHS releases of “The Sword in the Stone” and “Alice in Wonderland” had the 1981/1984 variant of the 1978-1986 Walt Disney Home Video “Neon Mickey” logo instead of the 1984-1987 Walt Disney Classics “Cheesy Diamond” logo.

@@ZacharyNoah The same does with Robin Hood 1984 Demo Tape and Dumbo 1985 VHS.
