Puffins are not a type of penguin, they are a type of sea bird with a colourful beak. Puffins can fly, but penguins cannot.

Those 1977 Queens Silver Jubilee coins were handed out to many British school children in their schools, for FREE. I being one of those children, I was 4 years old when I got mine from school. I can also remember the massive street parties going on.

Eddie Stobart is one of the best known British Haulage and Logistics Companies. The drivers are required to be courteous to other road users, smartly dressed and the trucks kept as clean as possible. All of the trucks have Names (usually a girls name) you can have one named for someone. There is a nickname for the company it's Steady Eddie. They are so popular they even had a TV series made about them. The company is now known as as just Stobart.

Stobarts has been taken over by a firm called Culina so you don’t often see the original lorries on the road anymore as the livery of them has changed

Shortbread originated in Scotland. Although it was prepared during much of the 12th century, and probably benefited from cultural exchange with French pastry chefs during the Auld Alliance between France and Scotland, the refinement of shortbread is popularly credited to Mary, Queen of Scots in the 16th century.

I went to Battersea power station last month. I loved it. The building is so cool. The lift is great. You aren’t there very long but it’s a must see. I also recommend having a drink in control room B. ( the menu is cool). Walk around the two sides of the shopping centre - the architecture in and out is amazing. I wasn’t there for the shops, it’s not my thing but I still think it’s worth going. Walk along to Battersea park and see the peace pagoda on the river. And for the most amazing view ever of Battersea power station go to the bar in art’otel - it’s called joia and has floor to ceiling windows that look over the power station.

Battersea power station is also famous for being the cover of Pink Floyd’s Animals album. I took my copy of the record and stood in front of it for a picture. Surreal to see it in person.

I once worked in ( for a short time) a factory that made Jammy Dodger biscuits, in those days we had to put the top ( heart cut out shape) on top of the base once the blob of jam had been added. Ps, we could eat as much as we wanted biscuits wise , we soon got sick of eating them believe me. This was back in the mid 1970's

I don't know if it's exactly the same, having never tried US pudding, but I think the closest thing we have is Angel Delight! It has similar flavours too, as butterscotch Angel Delight is a classic here! And to answer your pancake question - I haven't eaten pancakes _in_ the USA, but I have made pancakes from a traditional cookbook which had both English and American pancakes; my understanding is that American pancakes use a thicker batter and end up smaller but deeper and fluffier, whereas English ones use a thinner/runnier batter which spreads to fill the pan with a larger and thinner pancake closer to a crepe (not the same, but closer).

Coffee cake can come a couple of ways in the UK - it could have coffee in the sponge mix, or, it could be a 'plain' cake mix, with a coffee cream in the middle

Lyndsey,you will love Maltesers even more once you learn to blow them in the air and catch them in your mouth it's so much fun and something you can do as a family.So what you do is either lie on the floor or just put your head back as far as you can softly purse your lips and place a Maltesers on your lips then blow,slowly at first then increase the strength until it starts to float in the air once it is about six inches up stop blowing and open your mouth to catch it,me and my son used to do it with a whole packet,you will love it.i will be expecting a demonstration once you have mastered it 😊and look forward watching you try, it's trickier than it sounds

Your version of pudding is like our version of Angel Delight which I think you might have been sent before? There are probably generic brands but that is the main one most people know. It's one of those things that we all remember fondly from childhood and whenever anyone brings it up you think "ooo, i'll have to get some of that next time i go shopping" then never do because it takes more than 5 minutes of effort to make 😂

Here is something you could do yourself or with your Daughter. You have a number of small Road Vehicles. If you download and print a long photo of a Street Location and use some small People that I believe Sophie has. You could do a Stop Motion Video. It would look like the Vehicles were moving down the Road and People were standing or walking by.

The TV show is very beloved, making historical parody songs of silly, gross or funny events from history that is designed for children but probably just as popular with adults. The show came from a very famous series of books. There is also horrible science, geography, etc.

Steve, if no one has said I bet its Butterscotch Instant Whip, which was my favourite flavour of instant whip as a kid, very fashionable for the era was a powder you added milk to it and whisked it up to make a thick sauce about the consistency of pre made custard or to you taste. Cheap amd cheerful.

Pudding can have two very different meaning depending on which country you are in, as I discovered many years ago. A pudding can be a sweet dessert dish or a meaty spiced dish. So be careful.

About 20 years ago, the UK went through a phase of very gothic marketing. GHD for example (the hair styling irons), did twisted fairy tales, and also a play on the 10 commandments. Black Magic was before that. It's a classic strategy, but does pique peoples interest.

If my Google research is anything to go by, the trains on that mug were operated by 3 of the 'Big Four' railway companies that existed in the UK between the world wars. Duchess of Hamilton was a Princess Coronation class loco operated by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) from 1937 on the West Coast Main Line between London Euston and Glasgow Central. Flying Scotsman was an A3 class built by the London North Eastern Railway (LNER) in 1923 To run on the East Coast Main Line between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh Waverley and is probably the most famous steam locomotive in the world today. Sir Nigel Gresley was an LNER A4 class built in 1938. Finally, Stowe is a Southern Railway V Class which was built from 1930 and were initially used to haul trains from London to various places in Kent. (This class was more commonly known as the Schools class as all the locos were named after famous private schools).

I think your type of pudding is more like our Blancmange (pronounced Blamonge) the blancmange can have all sorts of flavours [it’s the 300 years of French being the official language of England since William the Bastard later to be Conquerer sat on the English Throne! The word Bastard was more like a title in those times basically being the illegitimate offspring of a King or Duke until he legitimises the child by claiming him or her, it’s to do with inheritance of title. William was the bastard of the until he became the king of England through conquest in his own name, hence William The Conquerer])!

Shortbread may have been made as early as the 12th Century, however its invention is often attributed to Mary, Queen of Scots in the 16th Century. Petticoat Tails were a traditional form of shortbread said to be enjoyed by the queen.

Our pancakes in the UK are very thin, like the french `crepes', your pancakes we would call `drop scones' or scottish pancakes.

I do live Cadbury tbh but galaxy chocolates is just a different thing to me it’s just so tardy and brilliant when snacking watching films love galaxy how it just melts too nice and creamy chocolate
