I wonder how hard it is to sell the high dollar pops. It's easy to sell low-cost ones. I have no clue on the higher-priced ones.

Extremely difficult. It's about as hard as selling a cheap common. May even be harder. It's because how often do you find someone willing to shell out $1k for just a specific character? It narrows your potential buyers significantly. They would have to be big enough fans of Harley Quinn, big enough Funko collectors, AND be able to afford spending a thousand dollars on it. It starts getting difficult to sell expensive pops once they start to become worth $350+, ESPECIALLY if they aren't of characters that are very well known

Honestly, that's probably why they did these big boxes. Not very many people have the money to buy those expensive pops, but throwing it in a mystery box is a great way to bait RU-vidrs looking for a cool video. And, honestly, it *is* cool to watch. Works out for everyone. ToyUSA moves expensive, hard to sell pops and Clint gets to make an interesting video for us.

The slight difference between your comparisons is the POP could plummet in value in time whereas the priceless book won't. Brian I don't agree with you about him taking advantage. He's a reseller and it's a customers choice to buy something. As to making money from the videos that's the case with most RU-vid channels. You bemoan Clint making money from the video but you watching generates revenue for him. Don't watch if you don't like the content.

I guess I'm old, ( which I am!😄) but I just don't understand why anyone would spend so much money on these vinyl figures. It seems like the market is flooded with them. In theory, the more kids that use them as toys, the more that are damaged at the store, the more that are thrown away, the fewer are left and the higher the value for that particular pop. The popularity of that movie, character, actor, etc will also go into into the value. But the Harley Quinn he got, they only made 144 of them to begin with. And it’s a popular character. So that means there will never be more than 144 of them.

I’m But saying this video cost you $3000 to make is ridiculous. You are getting almost all of your money back in product and since you are a reseller you will get most of that back. It’s not like people who actually spend $3000 and don’t have anything to show for it. I don’t mind if you split it up because some people split their videos up a lot more than you do but it’s ridiculous to say that. You might actually end up making money by the end of this I haven’t watched it yet

Brian Monkey 16 haha I’ve noticed he doesn’t take criticism too well. I’ve commented before not meaning anything and upset him. I like the guy just think he needs to realize he’s making a ton off these things typically. Even when he loses i think he still is up money after all the good pulls. I commented about the free “gift” he got for a promotion that was worth like $400 and he didn’t seem to recognize that he’s making money off that too

Brian Monkey 16 What do you mean smart to him? Like about him making a lot more money than he leads on? I mean more power To him if he has the money to spend but my issue this time is he split the video out to try to make more money Because there’s three instead of one and then saying he spent $3000 to make the video which isn’t true. He’s probably going to end up making money on everything and that’s before he even gets paid for whatever the video makes. He gets a lot of use so I wouldn’t be surprised if he does pretty well off the videos and I’m guessing he pays for most of these mystery boxes and such with just his RU-vid money. I don’t necessarily have a problem with him being a flipper because if I had the money I’d be doing it to it’s just the way he goes about things sometimes. He can’t take constructive criticism at all and it would be cool if you could work on that a little bit. If he just had a discussion with some of the people like me he would realize we’re not all out to get him.

Brian Monkey 16 I just went to the site. It was in Spanish, I’m sure I just overlooked the translator button, but looks like he made $3500 a month? Did I read that correctly? Honestly I don’t really know much about how many views equates to how much money But I thought it might be more than that. That’s still pretty crazy though. I get that people do put in work for these but when do you think about how much work is put in compared to how much money they make it’s ridiculous. I mean besides editing and a few other things like that it’s otherwise just fun. He’s going to open those boxes anyway he just happens to be able to film it and get paid. The issue is when him or any RU-vidr acts like it’s too much work or money. You’re still getting paid to do something you were already going to do in this case. I’m sure that he might respond by saying that he want to buy all the mystery boxes if it wasn’t for RU-vid, but now that he does getting them free basically because you make a video that pays for it is nice. In any case getting paid to make RU-vid videos is a pretty cushy job. I’m sure he’s reading this laughing because at the end of the day he’s got people criticizing him but he’s the one making the money.

Yes, as a reseller you can write off the initial investment when you are reselling everything and you pay federal/state/self employment taxes on the profit made.
