SO happy I gave this video a watch, because now I understand why my game didn't come with the promo cards. I've had Forbidden Memories since I was a kid, and when I'd found that the game didn't have the promos, I'd assumed my parents probably bought a used copy or something. Turns out, I have the second edition of the game, not the first. I had NO idea this game even had 2 variations, so as always, I appreciate you taking the time to document pieces of Yu-Gi-Oh! history like this. You've educated me once again!

Love Forbidden Memories, it was the first ever Yugioh game I played back in the mid 2000s. Still playing it every now and then. On the flip side, what's funny about the game is that Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon isn't in the game for some weird reason.

I think they should have just released Harpies Pet Dragon in Metal Raiders as a short print secret prismatic rare and just have Red-Eyes in the FMR.

This video made me desire this a lot. As someone from the UK, it was hard to get this for a good price due to the expensive postage from the US. Instead of buying the whole thing together, I bought each card in moderately/lightly played condition. I could only then find the premium edition of the game where it was only the case without the manual or game, and the case itself was pretty busted. I then bought the normal version of the game with the manual so I could then replace the inserts with the premium edition inserts. All it all, it cost me a little over £190.

The first game to feature the actual rules was a gameboy colour game. It came with 3 promo cards that are beyond valuable, luckily i still have mine.

This was one of my absolute favourite games as a child - absolutely loved the fusion system and the little battle cutscenes. Personal favourite was the B. Dragon Jungle King - what a card! Wish I’d got it new so I could’ve had those promos, Harpie’s Pet Dragon is one of my most wanted cards! What a great vid 😄

I bought a psa 10 red eyes black metal dragon for $800. I’m hoping that’s a good price in the future as they didn’t put first edition on it and they can always reprint a 1st ed one :/ but I’m in love with the card it’s so beautiful definitely one of my dream cards. Glad I have it in my collection now.

Amazing video. My 1st yugioh game wasn’t till Duelist of the roses on ps2. I got mine used so it didn’t came with cards. Still one of my favorites all time yugioh wise. It was such a great game overall.

Japanese game only contains 3 of the 5 cards. Collectors open the games and hope for one of the two Secret Rares to be in front of the package and keep it sealed.

Man, this is far beyond my favorite game. As a kid going to walmart with my older brother. I remember seeing the 1st edition version and it was more expensive than the 2nd edition. If i can remember correctly. The 2nd ed was 49.99 and the 1st ed was 29.99. Of course I got the cheaper one, I should have “borrowed” $20 more bucks to get the 1st ed lol. Epic opening Omar. In my opinion TWO missed opportunities. They could have replaced Harpies Pet Dragon with Red-Eyes Black Dragon like you said and instead just short printed harpies pet dragon to make it that one ridiculously rare prismatic card to get in Metal Raiders set. But Secondly, I think Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon should have been printed as a Fusion monster for the Fusion deck making him the first Fusion monster ever to not need polymerization would have been perfect! Edit: And then later on in GameCube they could have done the same with Metalzoa.

The Funny Part is you cannot even get the cover card in the game in the West Releases aswell as some other cards like the Legs of Exodia (Which even is mentioned in the Manual but you just simply cannot obtain it xD). It is only possible in the japanese release and only if you own a Pocket Station.
